I have a 2022 Dodge power wagon with a 6.4 hemi would it be safe to run 5W 40 oil in it because I haul a heavy camper and 0 to 40 seems to Brake down they all I have been using is the ultra platinum 0 -40 I would like to change it to the altar platinum 5w-40
Thank you

You can run a 5w/40 and be ok but the 0w/40 oils will be more robust and RAM calls for Pennzoil Ultimate 0w/40 which is a top performing oil:

Since it getting to be summer and hauling a camper I thought a little heavier oil would work better and not thin out as much

The 40wt is the number that matters and a 0w and 5w both will be the same thickness/viscosity at temperature so going to a 5w does nothing to make the oil thicker at operating temps.

Have you had an oil analysis done that shows it breaking down? While my personal opinion of the SRT oil is that it's overpriced for what it is, there are several excellent 0W-40 offerings on the market that meet some of the most demanding performance certifications and approvals on the planet.
