I went their today to try on some tactical pants. I've heard that tactical pants are made in such a way that they allow for maximum freedom of movement. WRONG! They are tight! I told the girl that I don't care which pockets have what, I just want some pants that I can move in; so she gave me 5 different 5.11 pants to try on. One of their pants; the TacLite Pro, were the roomiest pants they make; they have lots of pockets, but they are definitely not roomy. Some of them have stretchy fabric stretch panels that are supposed to allow for more freedom of movement; but instead of going through all the trouble to design stretch panels, why not just make the pants bigger? What would I suggest? Lengthen the rise by about 6 inches; make the legs wider; and make the seat roomier. Basically start over from square one.

I have two sets of their regular pants and they do NOT breathe. That's a problem if you wear them in the heat. On the other hand, if I wear them out shooting in the snow, with an appropriate long-john, they keep you warm.
Yes. I know a few guys wearing their pants and they are noticeably snug fitting but people swear by them.

Sorry Cholo pants dont allow freedom of movement and the extra cloth gets snagged. Most Americans have been wearing wrong sized pants so long when a proper fit is put on manhood starts to get questioned.

When I'm working ALS we HAVE to wear class A style pants. I always pay for the 5.11 upgrade as they are significantly more comfy than the standard issue.

I do like their shirts.
I find 5.11 pants to be cut on the roomy side. In my normal size, I've got plenty of room and freedom of movement. The Carhartt work pants I use are about done - worn out. I've bought a pair of 5.11 in the same size to replace them and they're a lot more comfortable.
I like the Stryke pants from 5.11, but they do ride a fair bit lower than other pants I've had. For those concerned with how they breathe, the TDU version of the Stryke has some extra venting built in. Not great in -35°C, but nice in the summer.
tactical pants. That sounds so silly.
I've been wearing 5.11 Taclite Pro pants and shorts at work exclusively for years. They're comfortable, breathe well and 5.11 is very generous with their warranty.

Wasn't sure what the reference was. Almost sounded like the shoe company 5.10 (a climbing term for difficulty) which also made "tactical" boots primarily for police and military use. At least until Adidas bought the company.

Those are just as pricey as my lululemon ABC pants, which are the only pants that don't suffer from crotch blow outs from riding bikes and still look dressy for the office. But those ufpros look beefy, like something a SWAT team or EMS would wear.
