I have a filter in the shed that did 40,000 miles. Looks absolutely normal but I must say the oil never did more than 10k miles....

It's been in the shed a few years, but I might show if there's interest

On top of the mileage that engine is one of the worst applications to use extended drains with. Terrible.

I personally wouldn't by a used car over 10k miles when possible. You can do a lot of damage in 50k miles with neglect

The oil wasn't changed at all in those 47,000 miles according to one of the author's comments. If it had been changed frequently, the filter probably would have looked alright, even if the media was pretty clogged.
