I’m going to cut the remaining two Ti & Donaldson filters to see if these two were fluke issues. Still have a stockpile of Amsoil & Endurance filters for all of my applications so I’m not changing anything. Figured someone here might want to see these cut open.

Oh, I forgot the precut base plate pics for the Amsoil & Endurance.

Next post.
A little nasty but will work just fine. And guess what, you’ll never know.

Like i stated in that post, I have a stockpile of the Amsoil & Endurance filters. Been using the Amsoil filter for far over a decade, probably closer to two & the Endurance about a year or so after they came out. Not much against them other than some of their ADBV’s are very poor. Sloppy glue is just disappointing to see but better than not enough

Thank you, keep us updated! Would be nice to have a Donaldson rep here on the forums. Though it boggles me they are not into the light duty market since Amsoil OEM days.
Just had a long exchange with their sales rep. Sent her pics & filled out one of their forms for explanation of the issue. Waiting for them to send me the request for return shipment of the two filters.

Would be nice to see if they can make a longer version of these for higher capacity. Anyways curious to hear what they say about the problem. Its good they responded.

Sales rep gal was a bit of a PITA until I explained that I’m not some kid looking to get a couple dollars refunded over a pair of $10 filters & that I was trying to inform them of an actual issue with the product that has high potential of dry starts. It went a bit further than that as well but once she understood she hopped on board really quick.

Its probably the nature of Donaldson since their bread and butter is B2B OEM sales and contracts. If you used your job company email as point of contact, they'll take you serious up front than trying to pass you off as a typical consumer. A lotta companies operate this way in my experience with project engineering work.

You’re likely correct. I’ve been lucky to not have to deal with the public until the current position I’m in. Now certain emergency signs at my facilities have my desk number posted instead of the local area control center. The vast majority of the public calls are people looking for their local utility or with off the wall questions. I’ve only received 2 calls in several years from the public about actual emergency situations.

Well finally received the RMA to return the filters to Donaldson. Sounds like the sales lady I was dealing with went out on leave without finishing the process. Sent a follow-up email the other day and the next day had a response from someone with the RMA attached.

Will get them sent out on Monday since I'm on 12hr night shifts through Sunday morning.
