Recently my car keep having ping, and seems SI-1 does not solve the issue. I take out the plug and spray TB cleaner, it helps a lot but still some ping exists. I check my garaga, and I find 3M DIY Tune UP kit.
So I run the Intake Cleaner and pour the Fuel FSC, it improves the ping and makes the acceleration better even though does not cure the ping 100%.

One thing I notices when I use the Intake System cleaner is the distinct smell of the solution, that reminds me of similar product from Japan(DCS Super Engine Conditioner) that claimed to remove carbon from combustion chamber.

My question is does anyone know which component ingredient make that distinct smell on that product ?

I am referring the smell on the intake cleaner spray not the one at the FSC liquid.
Sure the smell is different from PEA smell on SI-1.

I have used the intake spray cleaner but I don't remember noticing its smell. I will try to check it out.

well, actually now not too sure whether the smell i noticed from the spray or from the exhaust, but i believe both have same distinct smell

Were you talking about the thing with the snake tube or the spray can? I have only used the spray bottle. Snake tube has not been used yet.

Anyway, the question really is:- Do you think that kit made any difference? Would you recommend it? Would you use it on your other vehicles?

Yes, I refer the can with snake tube.
In regards of your question:
It definitely makes significant difference especially when you drive 10 mins after you spray it. I definitely recommend the product, but I wish it is price cheaper like the old stuff I used (DCS Engine Conditioner) which cost less than 10 bucks alone. If you know any place selling cheap only the can with the snake tube, definitely I would buy in bulk.

I have got 3 kits which I have paid $15 each after rebate. The kits are part of my "things to horde" cache. The last time, instead of using this kit, I tried the old fashioned Seafoam which I went out and purchased for $8. (and few more dollars for the clear tube to hook it up :-)

I am also hording one of the Toyota branded fuel system cleaner metal can which claims to melt your fuel system (it warns you not to leave it in the tank for long i.e. use it once you have added to your gas)
