It must have skipped Independence, then. I saw $2.99 on my way in early this morning.
Prices just jumped here, too. Under $5 a gallon is difficult to find.

Probably due to the big snow in the Sierras last few days.
They say it's because of high demand due to Spring Break. Summer blend. Whatever. There's always a reason.

The old switch from winter blend to summer blend is likely to blame. The old wise tale.
We saw a similar increase here but it's already dropping back.
The station I bought gas at Friday for 2.85 is now 2.97, so not as bad as it has been in some past periods, like 2022.
The reason is likely that somebody decided to hike pump prices, in this area probably Speedway, and everyone else followed.

Wow paid $2.79 today at Costco. I bet it will go up in a few days. Time to drive the hybrid.
