I’m about 2.2K into ownership of my 24 F150 powerboost. Absolutely love this thing. Roughly 600 miles to a tank average 18-20 mpg but the weather has been cold and the warmer it is the better gas mileage I get. I replaced the transmission at 400 miles due to a torque converter shutter. Tinted all the windows including the windshield. Just put the bed cover on and the bed mat was delivered today. Plan on doing 5K intervals on the remaining 3 Kirkland full synthetic oil jugs I got. Only has the 2.4kw generator but is plenty for me. Definitely would recommend a powerboost F150

Congrats on the truck. I remember a post here mentioning the "Power Boost" engine from Ford but I need to go do a Bing search to remind me what it is. I'll assume some gasoline turbo engine.

Did you say 18-20mpg? I would have thought it would be better than that. If you are happy with your truck though, I'm happy for you.

I personally would not have been happy. Glad I didn't consider the hybrid. I'm very happy with my Lightning.

Not sure what he's doing, but I'm getting 24mpg in my suburban commute. I've made plenty of 5 mile trips to the grocery store and the computer calculated >28mpg, some over 30. PLUS, you get 570 ft-lb on tap if you want to use it (but use it sparingly to get that mileage). And if you buy it lightly used like I did, the extra cost of the hybrid option (>$3k) is probably fully depreciated and you're not paying any more for it than a standard ecoboost model getting around 20mpg.

Good looking truck OP. I am hopeful by now ford has these figured out. I had a 21 Lariat Powerboost that sat at Ford for months. I ended up lemon lawing it.

The concept, mileage, power and onboard generator makes an attractive package. Hope it serves you well for many years.

I myself might do some UOAs to see how things look before going right to your desired OCI. 3.5 EcoBoosts still love phasers and timing sets.

Does this truck have a gimp/eco mode to relax the throttle inputs to help slow you down?

This truck is probably the most comfortable capable tower available from a hitch perspective - but not hauler, its capacity is pretty low.

Any updates on the mpg? My 2.7 eco averages around 20.9 … I would hope you’d be seeing 24 or so in yours? @gabriel9766
No clue on the OP, but I can get 24 mpg around town and 18 mpg on the interstate if I manually shift to keep out of boost on the hills. I could improve that significantly if I wasn't running 35's with the AAD removed.

That’s incredible with 35s. Solid good mpg.

I think the new hybrid Tacoma I looking at 24mpg or so, and it looks like it has a very similar architecture, with the generator/motor in the bell housing.

I test drove two of them. I really wanted the Tundra since the full roll down rear window was something that I’ve wanted for a long time.

The Tundra just drove ok, but the seats were flat, very firm and uncomfortable. My wife has fibromyalgia and loves the seats in the King Ranch, the Powerboost feels much quicker than the Tundra hybrid setup too.
