My bad, ignore all of that. I didn't know 0w12 is in there between the two.

That's my point, let's go 70, what's wrong with 70 grade?
In terms of potential damage or harm to the engine, nothing as long as the winter rating is appropriate for your starting temperature. Way more film thickness than you need and it will affect your fuel consumption, but it’s not mechanically detrimental to the engine.

Drove the 2025 Crown Signia today. Has the same engine and hybrid system as you but 0W-8. I extracted the FF at about 1100 miles and put in HPL P+PCEO 0W-8 which has about 1000 miles on it. I used Torque app and here is what I found for engine oil temp and coolant temp.
Driving through town and on the freeway, oil temp fluctuated some but stayed around 175 degF. Oil temp did eventually get up to a max of 185 degF but did not stay there for long. Coolant temp continued to rise until it stabilized between 195-201 degF.

This weekend, I plan to monitor it more when I am driving it.
What you are seeing is what I tried to explain around here years ago, now confirmed by scan gauge. The Crown series even reverted back to a mechanical thermostat for practicality reasons.

Toyota is slow walking moving some other A25A-FXS and A25A-FKS engines to 0W8. The same applies to M20A-FKS and M20A-FXS.

i happened to see a beautiful white Crown Signia on the freeway near SFO yesterday, in addition to scrutinizing one at a dealership at release to the North American market a year ago. Automotive Press blogger, an expert in quality control, measures precisely and observes that they are very well made in Japan and of highest quality.

If you have any concerns about ROI--OCI with the HPL P+PCEO 0W8, see my threads. Change this oil out at 20k miles/one year, use only HPL P+PCEO 0W8 moving forward, and consider possibly extending OCIs. That is my bestest advice.

TBH, @High Performance Lubricants informed me that I could have gone 40k miles in OCIs, given the data yielded by my driving conditions !

Even with noteworthy oxidative thickening between 20k and 30k miles, the more than ample remaining additive package in this incredible oil would mitigate any concerns about sludge percursers and wear.

Happy motoring !
