2025 so far EV sales up 28%

Where are they made? GM is crushing it with EV growth, but I believe its two volume sellers are made in Mexico.
Lotta Bolts around here... The Bolt assembly is in Lansing, but the drivetrain, infotainment, HVAC are from South Korea.

Interesting times ahead?
I'm not buying another car for a long time and this tariff nonsense is going to guarantee I have no interest in doing so.

Congrats on purchase!

An EV would fit my use case so well ans work commuter and employer free Level II charging. Tesla is plummeting in used market in terms of resale and has massive supply.

Tempting.

Right now you can lease a Model 3 for $199/month. $1k down. 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. Not a bad deal if you're into leasing.

Flying under the radar with my 2021 ID.4.........3.5 years w/~35k miles and still happy as a clam. :)

Meanwhile the Taos needs new rear brakes @ 2 years & 10 days/22.7k miles. Missed the Taos/Jetta brake warranty extension by 10 freaking days and VWoA won't budge on it. Yes the 2nd car in household will be electric (Ariya most likely) once the Taos lease is up. Getting back into ICE vehicle after driving EV for now ~6.5 years is very hard to do. Just feels like a step backwards - the noise, shifting (in non hybrids) and delay from your right foot requesting more power to it actually happening just feels archaic.

I wouldn’t buy an Ariya personally. Curious why you like it? Not hating, just genuinely curious why you’d pick that over other options in a crowded competitive segment.

I do agree once you go EV you never want to go back lol. Every time I drive an ICE car I’m like this sucks!

Ariya will be most likely a hand me down (hand me down sale?). My MIL purchased a very nice CPO 2023 Ariya (FWD Evolve+) about 5-6 months ago and still seems kind of wishy washy on it because she can't charge it at home* so she may go back to ICE and Ariya will be assumed by my other half. Personally it is not my taste but it is a very comfortable ride and has a quite nice interior, I have to say as much hate as Nissan gets they do interior and seat comfort incredibly well.

*She can't charge at home because she won't do what is necessary to get a L2 charger installed despite having an unused 50A circuit (old kitchen range outlet - she converted to gas a few years ago for some reason) located conveniently right on the best wall for a charger to be installed - just needs to be punched through the wall to the outside or run down and out through the crawlspace. I have offered to help her get bids and pointed out good outdoor rated chargers but yeah here we are - I finally threw my hands up and told her to let me know when she is ready to do something. Ya know the saying you can lead a horse to water.......

With my Dad's health issues, I spent the past couple of months driving around Montana and back and forth from Seattle several times. I kept an eye out with all that driving, but I never spotted a single EV further than 80 miles away from Seattle. I did see one lonely super charging station in a podunk little town along I-90 (Superior, MT). No one was using it, though. I hardly saw a hybrid, either.
