2026, the year Mobil 1 ESP 0W30 fell to our new lord/savior...Valvoline Restore and Protect!I’m seriously thinking about using it exclusively just to pump the numbers. The laughs would be worth it.

Aaah. We know where the Swepco comes from. Do you use Swepco or Fram on your own machines?Thank you for the data. There will be practically no swepco in 2026 and much less fram(unless it gets clearanced) because I don't work at the shop where I did all those oil changes. I think since I left there I've done maybe 8 oil changes
I used swepco 306 15w40 for a while in my 04 Silverado, and in some OPE. I've since moved to Mobil 1 ESP 0w30. Both my generators still have swepco in them and will be getting Mobil 1 ESP next service. My former boss still uses the 306 in classic cars and older equipment. Per the last voa of it I did the 15w40 was on the lighter end of the 40wt viscosity range, but had high detergency and high zddp. I think it's a good oil, but I think the Mobil 1 ESP is better and more suitable to my needs. It's also a lot cheaper.Aaah. We know where the Swepco comes from. Good observation!I think the results would look far different if based upon miles driven than simple changes. There have been many short OCIs with Valvoline Restore and Protect to skew the data this year.
Nice job as usual. Your time and effort on this is appreciated.
I was hoping Valvoline would take over top spot just so I could have some fun with it. I had some nice roasting comments/jokes brewing. Oh well, maybe next year.
I agree with him. I think that he was just saying that short OCIs = more frequent changes = higher numbers on the list. How does this skew the data? This list isn’t about the number of miles driven on any particular oil. It’s simply what oil was used. I don’t think most people are running intervals with Valvoline Restore and Protect that much shorter than they normally do anyway. Most of BITOG appears to do 3-5k intervals already, and that’s also roughly what people are doing with Valvoline Restore and Protect as well.
If you subtracted out the Valvoline Restore and Protect the Valvoline numbers would drop down around Pennzoil or Castrol fill levels .I feel like Valvoline is closing in on Mobil.
Thanks for doing this.381 Mobil
