2025 "Post your latest Oil Change results"

Thank you for the data. There will be practically no swepco in 2026 and much less fram(unless it gets clearanced) because I don't work at the shop where I did all those oil changes. I think since I left there I've done maybe 8 oil changes

Aaah. We know where the Swepco comes from. Do you use Swepco or Fram on your own machines?

I used swepco 306 15w40 for a while in my 04 Silverado, and in some OPE. I've since moved to Mobil 1 ESP 0w30. Both my generators still have swepco in them and will be getting Mobil 1 ESP next service. My former boss still uses the 306 in classic cars and older equipment. Per the last voa of it I did the 15w40 was on the lighter end of the 40wt viscosity range, but had high detergency and high zddp. I think it's a good oil, but I think the Mobil 1 ESP is better and more suitable to my needs. It's also a lot cheaper.

How does this skew the data? This list isn’t about the number of miles driven on any particular oil. It’s simply what oil was used. I don’t think most people are running intervals with Valvoline Restore and Protect that much shorter than they normally do anyway. Most of BITOG appears to do 3-5k intervals already, and that’s also roughly what people are doing with Valvoline Restore and Protect as well.
I agree with him. I think that he was just saying that short OCIs = more frequent changes = higher numbers on the list.

I wonder when / if the EU and UK will get Valvoline Restore and Protect. That'd likely tip the scale and knock Mobil off the top spot.

My VW was replaced with a Ford. So, there is no need for 508.00/509.00. Both Fords are now on Valvoline. Many years ago I used mostly Valvoline and have returned.

If anyone wants to take over the counting for 2026 the job is your lol. I'm taking 2026 off, maybe I'll do it again in 2027 if Im still above ground. I find the results interesting, but it's a bit redundant at this point. It's Mobil, and then some combination of Pennzoil, Valvoline, Castrol, Quaker State, Supertech followed by some combination of Amsoil,HPL,Kirkland,Havolin/Chevron,Frankenblend,Shell,Sweepco. There's always flavors of the year that creep in out year to year which is always interesting, and it would be interesting to see if Valvoline dethrones Mobil this year, but I'm not feeling like counting this year. If anyone decides to taking over the tally for 2026, my word of advice is to keep on the count. Id suggest counting once a week or every other week to help make it not become a chore.
