2025 Nissan Armada

Wow my brain has to get used to the poor fuel economy having driven a 2024 Rav4 Prime for a year. Drove home an hour away and pretty much drove it like Grandpa would on a Sunday and it was at 19.5 mpg.

The Mexican made OE Nissan Filter feels much lighter than the Purolator. Dealer did a free oil change since the owner was driving it but at 3,000 miles I will put in Purolator oil filter and most likely Pennzoil Ultra 0w-20 or Mobil 1 ESP 0w-20.

Seriously-I can exceed that in my 2023 Silverado 5.3 on the Interstate as long as I keep it at 70mph or below. Cylinder deactivation makes it possible.

Yeah I turned it off. Next time I'll try it on. I'm not too concerned about MPGs on this unit. Just my brain goin from 100s MPG to 19.5 MPG.

I asked the GM at the Nissan dealer if he would deny a warranty claim for standard or extended warranty that I purchased if I used non OE oil filter and he said NO. Just provide a log book and receipts if necessary.

It's got a nifty puddle light. And enjoy the auto lock and unlock with key fob in pocket. To clarify it senses you're near and will automatically unlock and likewise lock when you walk away. This feature can be turned off in dash setting. There is a virtual oil dipstick that tells exact oil level which is neat. After hard highway run the level was a tad over max and then said oil level high and to reduce level but as soon as I got to a stop sign the level went a hair below max and said oil level ok. Pretty sensitive. When I DIY oil change I will want the level maxed at 3/4s hash mark.

Look forward to continued updates.:)
I own a '23 and am very happy with it.
On even terrain with careful highway driving, i can get into the 20s as well, but I imagine your vehicle will do better.

I have already done a couple oil changes in ours, dumped the factory fill at 1500 miles then changed again at 5000. Went with Castrol 5w30 euro. I think I will stick with that or go to Mobil 0w40, I have not decided yet. BTW going from the factory fill 0w20 to 5w30 made no difference in mileage or sound of the engine. It still runs hard, you can defiantly feel its GTR DNA.

Just got the skid plates off to get my bearings for upcoming oil change if anyone is interested. First is a steel skid plate with 4 bolts and the one under the oil pan is a composite material also 4 bolts.

That frame looks massive. Like it belongs on a bigger vehicle.
It is a very sturdy frame for sure. And honestly in the engine bay all the exposed wiring is tightly wrapped in this grayish electrical tape. You can tell the engineers and the factory workers that these we're produced went the extra step for all the little things that often get overlooked.

Digital oil level is reading a bit over max but system says it is OK. I'll try and get the level a tad below MAX with a swap of OE oil filter with a Purolator. I prefer oil level a tad below max.

Doesn't look over max to me, they just placed the text oddly. The bar shows just under max and that is exactly where I would want it.

Not a big fan of these unless there is also a dipstick, which there usually isn't.

You know I think you're right about the level. It also does have a physical dipstick.
