2025 Nissan Armada

That's the 2024 Model. Bad part batches do happen. As I mentioned-I have a 2023.
Well, the post you commented on was not mentioning 2023s specifically was it ?

Plus it's not a bad batch. A bad batch is messing up in production something that is otherwise good.
In this case, they had to re-engineer the valve twice to get to something that supposedly solves the problem.

I have a 2023 Silverado with the 5.3 and the ten speed. There is nothing wrong with the (10 speed) transmission.

And no one ever said there is anything wrong with your transmission 😊

All that was said was that he doesn't recommend GM to his clients because of the transmission issues with the 10 speed transmissions, which got you to comment on his credibility. A recall on thousands of vehicles sounds credible enough. You got that horse out of the barn - now ride it.

And check your vin with your dealer instead of getting mad. You might be entitled to a newer valve body and to an extended warranty.

Checking online inventory and calling around yielded no availability on 2025 Armada Pro-4X within 500 miles. Plenty of Platinum trim available though. At this rate I may have to reconsider a Sequoia TRD-Pro.

This Armada is what's gonna turn Nissan's luck around, in a good way. Although, even the constant negative press did benefit them greatly in terms of sales.
I have a 2014 Armada and absolutely love it. If anything happens to it - I'll likely replace it with 2020+ V8 Armada.
Wife has a 14 Armada as well, we bought it new, 4x4 Plat Res and it has been very reliable during the 165K it now has. Only issue we have had it that we had to replace the ECU at the 85K mark, that has been the only repair item. The Wife still loves the thing, IDK what I'm going to do when it is time to replace it. I'm not a fan of the smaller displacement TT engines or the DI engines but Nissan's 3.5TT is a well proven engine.

I'm showing three available nationwide at the wholesale dealer auctions.

I'm in the market for a mainstream BOF full-sized SUV. I've ruled out the Sequoia even though I had a 2002, Expedition, Suburban, and Wagoneer.

So the Nissan Armada came up on my list and it looks promising. Supposedly the 2025 will be the exact Nissan Patrol that is offered worldwide and coveted by crazed Middle Easterners who use them as dune buggies.

Anyone have any driving time behind the new 2025 Nissan Armada and your pros and cons?
IMO, the best family SUV looking from space/design/utility. Big, BIG leap over previous model.
Will see reliability, but 3.5TT has been around for some time, as well as 9-speed.
It is all new Sequoia, should be.

What are your priorities? IMO, Armada is far better executed vehicle. I would go get PRO-4X and drove it back home.

I was just thinking out loud but everything on paper aside from resale value leads me to the Nissan Armada. I just have to be patient.

It's a decent vehicle. Many, many on here do not buy new vehicles-and will never buy one. They should rejoice about questionable resale value-makes the vehicle cheaper for the beater crowd to acquire years down the road. Please keep us posted on your quest-maybe somewhere in the country there is a decent Nissan dealer SOMEWHERE.

The engine issues on Sequoia. Then, the build quality (interior is really poorly assembled). IDK about Armada, but I know about Sequoia.
But let's put that on the side. What is the point of Sequoia? I got a year ago 2018 one, bcs. I could not see myself going with Sequoia 3rd generation, pay attention, after VW Atlas.
So, Toyota currently has three SUVs with solid axles in the back: 4Runner, LC, and Sequoia. Why? I mean I get that off road hardcore "bros" want solid axle, but how many of them will buy Sequoia? The 4Runner and the current LC are smaller and better for that purpose. 2nd generation is an independent axle, and while it might be an issue while rock crawling at Moab, it is far more capable off-road than most SUVs, especially any unibody SUV. So, the only conclusion I can derive is that they wanted to save money and thought people would buy it anyway (they don't).
Next is that battery/third row fiasco. Again, if they went to an independent axle, they could lower the floor and that battery. Seats sit on the battery, trunk is small (smaller than Atlas, far less usable than it looks).

And then resale value. I am not so sure about it due to engine issues and just the fact it does not sell. It looks fantastic, but they lost the audience that wants a capable BOF with a large family. That is why Tahoe/Expedition/Suburban are absolutely killing Toyota in that segment.
Armada IMO is what Sequoia should be. Good for Nissan. I hope they sell them and help them get on track.

I -unfortunately have spent considerable time on the third row that sits on top of the batteries in the new Sequoia. That seat as far as comfort for ones' bottom is absolutely terrible. The second row captains seats are fine.
As far as the vehicle itself-those expecting Toyota refinement will be sadly disappointed-especially for 80 large.

Yes totally agree with you here. The Armada (Patrol) was actually being compared to the Lexus LX700 in high regard so Nissan didn't skimp on this American Armada iteration and went loud and proud with its 1951 Patrol roots through and through.

17 MPG? Sure... Maybe if the roads are downhill in both directions. LOL
Not sure why not? GM can pull that off easily with V8. I can get 18-19 with 2018 Sequoia in open roads without too much sweat, and 3UR uses fuel like Boeing. In city though, I can hear fuel passing below me through lines :)
25 Armada has 9 speed transmission, it is V6, it has all modern goodies to squeeze extra mpg.

I was in middle East recently.
Did not get to drive one, but sheesh do those locals flog them over the dunes.
To get the full International Patrol spec, I think you may have to pick the PRO4X trim.
On the other hand they did have a Nismo version in the previous Gen in the Middle East also.

Even so, if you want the authentic Patrol experience, I'd go with the PRO4X, or if you feel sporty the Nismo version when that comes out.

These vehicles have been beating Landcruisers at their own game for decades.
Check out all the Dubai and Aussie reviews on youtube.

Here is a link of the previous gen in a flood in Dubai:
(I have the exact vecicle shown in this vid, color and all, the frame rails seem to be the thickness of Railroad ties.)

Very doable. My 2014 4x4 Armada with 100+ less horsepower gets 19-20MPG on highway, and average 17-18MPG. If lots of in town driving, then it does drop to 15MPG. Given its brisk and pleasant acceleration (despite being a hefty tank) I'm more than ok with these numbers.
New one should be able to easily outdo these numbers, while providing a nice bump in power.
