2025 Mustang Pricing

I bought a new 1981 Mustang, 2.3l, 5-speed to beat high price fuel at the time. I had 19% interest on that car. I lived in Denver, CO. I traded in my 1977 Black Trans Am. Frankly, I think my 1964 Studebaker Daytona, 4-speed, buckets (that reclined) was a better car. I did not want to drive the Daytona in the winter snows. I lived in an Apartment complex-no garages. I now own a 2017 Mustang ecoboost I got in 2019 for a "song". It has been a good car. Keeping an eye on the head gasket.

How many miles now on your 17? I'm no expert, but I don't think head gaskets were ever a thing on 2.3 Mustangs, plenty of issues with 2.0's of that year in other vehicles though.

Ford Racing has an EcoBoost tune for the 2024 Mustang that adds 30 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque.
I also heard about that. Some people prefer the tuned turbo because it's lighter than a V8. For me I wouldn't do that to a commuter car. I would also appreciate the whole having a 4 cylinder engine in a bay that can fit a V8 for the extra room.

If I was going with a 4 cylinder, the EcoBoost RTR would be my only choice.

The Performance Exhaust can be added to the base Ecoboost Mustang for around $1200. Looks better with the four larger diameter outlets in the back. Saw one on Autotrader the other day plus upgraded 19" wheels.

C&D says 0 -60 with a Mustang GT with Performance Exhaust is 4.2. Versus Ecoboost at 4.5 seconds and saves roughly $10k.

I hope everyone realizes to get that extra horsepower you have to revving in the 6,000 rpm range. If you don’t drive like that, you’re wasting money.

What car are you referring to amigo?
The RTR 4-banger?
Posts 62 and 66. Sounds like fun but really the bang for the buck is not that great except hypothetically you can take on a GT. The GT guys can also put on some goodies. I couldn’t find a dyno chart but you’d really have to put your foot into it.

Saw a video yesterday on YT for an EB premium Mustang, O - 60 was 4.6 seconds. It didn't seem like he was getting on it excessively either, I think rpms were around 5k iirc.

What’s wrong with that? Life begins at 6000 rpm 🤩🤣
Exactly! My Club Sport was my HPDE instructor car from 1996 to 2012. It still sees 7000 rpm almost every time that I drive it and it's still going strong at 152,600 miles. Even my C43 has a 6500 rpm redline. What good is a sports car/sedan if you are too scared to drive it like you stole it?

My coupe sees the melty part of the tach every time she's out.
Never bats an eye, doesn't use a drop of oil. She's not perfect but still puts a huge grin on my face after all these years.
Low 13 second car that makes all the right noises😎

Nice!!! What mods does it have? I loved both of my 5.0 Mustangs. To this day it’s still the best sounding exhaust note 🤩

Well, the price is right and fuel economy is not too hateful.
I have to chuckle at the notion of RWD being anything other than a positive.
I grew up driving RWD cars where it really snows and didn't find them bad at all.
Having driven plenty of both FWD and RWD, neither is "better" than the other all else being equal. Naturally a RWD pick up with no weight in the bed will be worse than a nose heavy FWD vehicle. But something like my Challenger? I'll take that over anything FWD in snow.

Full exhaust- BBK unequal shorty headers, BBK O/R H-pipe, 3 chamber Flowmasters, 3.55's, subframe connectors, Eibach Pro-Kit, cold air intake, March underdrive pulley kit, timing bump. Just the basic butthole mods lol.
She's a strong little runner.
