2025 1500 Ram SST Issues

Don't think so, was just making a joke. Non-V8 will probably have transmission problems instead ;)
Yeah I was wondering which get the 10 speed which is either horrible or amazing, depending upon who you talk to.

I don't keep up on new-new stuff 'cause I can't afford it and don't want it ;)
 
We have bought a 2013 Passat TDI, 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer, 2014 Ford Fiesta, 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, 2016 Ford Focus, 2019 Toyota Highlander, 2019 Honda Insight, 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, and 2025 Ram 1500 all brand new. The only vehicle that made it to the first scheduled oil change without warranty repair was the Honda Insight and I was deployed for part of that one
That's actually shocking. I've bought over a dozen new vehicles and I drive them into the ground, I can only think of one that needed a warranty repair in the first year that was built after 1991. I've never had a vehicle not make it to the first oil change. I was disappointed when one of my cars needed a cooling fan replacement under warranty at 89K miles.

We must be on opposite sides of the auto-luck coin.

UPDATE: Apparently if you vehicle is broken for over 46 days it's not a lemon in a state that only requires 40 days and it doesn't affect the value even though I have been offered less than one with a rebuilt title.

We have now signed with a law firm that will enforce the law. NCDS is not fair or impartial and doesn't follow the law. Don't waste your time with it and just hire a law firm.

Pretty much all contracts do these days.
Kind of what I figured. Read awhile back that most vehicle arbitration and the companies they use are stacked heavy with retired or former auto industry legal counsel and is a self-licking ice cream cone for the auto makers.
 
Then we went and test drove a 2024 Silverado 1500 Custom Turbomax. This was the double cab as my wife didn't like the crew cab. It wasn't as nice to drive as my Ram in my opinion and it has a lot less creature comforts than my Bighorn trim but lease deal of 434 a month with $500 down, I think we are leaning towards that now. 9k tow capacity is more than enough for what we need and the increased payload is welcome compared to my Ram. I like it only takes 6 quarts of oil too.

If you've watched some towing reviews, you'll quickly realize that 9k pounds for the turbo max is extremely generous. I'd put it closer to 6000-7000.

You can check out Alex Getty on YT, he does a far better job with towing reviews than TFL. He's compared almost all the half ton engines now using the same trailer and trailer weights, IIRC the little 4 was screaming pretty hard at the end of the review, almost flat road and doing 4k+ RPMs. That was at 110 km/hr, if you tow closer to 100 km/h (60 mph) then it might do better but it was wrung out really bad.

These are the only half tons I'd consider at this point:
  • Ram 5.7 hemi with ZF 8 speed (lifter tick a very small possibility, best transmission in the segment)
  • Ford 5.0 coyote with 10 speed (5.0 has DoD system now too unfortunately, 10 speed can be problematic)
  • Ford 2.7 EB with 10 speed (turbo is a con for me, and there is that same 10 speed)
  • GM 3.0 diesel with 10 speed (transmission can be problematic)
  • 5.7 Tundra with 6 speed (very old school, rides rough, old tech, low tow rating and payload, but will run 1 million miles)

Those are about it. If you didn't need to tow, the NA v6s from Ram and Ford are probably worth looking into, but they're definitely not doing 9k pounds.

I keep harping on this but where in Canaduh is he and what's the approximate altitude? Anything struggling for him will REALLY struggle at my home base, although I guess you could argue turbos don't care so much.

The one thing TFL has going for them is true altitude, but those guys give me a headache. I wouldn't trust them to change a flat tire.

Yeah I watched his video actually. Right now our boat is less than 2,000 lbs. It's old and has about a 500lb tongue weight so a lot of SUVs struggle with it unless it has a full tank of gas lol.

In the future we would like a bigger boat but we would still be under 4,500 for sure. I just don't want something that will take it close to max so it has reserved capacity for increased safety and less equipment stress. My wife I'm sure will want a camper some day but again probably only about 5k max so 9k tow ratings is plenty of Overkill even if it's a generous rating. My wife also like to send me for bricks and rock transport so I appreciate added payload. Either way a Turbomax Silverado will do more than we need with reserves available.
 
Knowing OP's luck with vehicles he operates, the Shimano gear derailer would be prone to misalignment, causing his chain to break, which would get stuck in the gear cassette, and his bike shop's main mechanic would be off for a couple weeks at the Tour de France as the head mechanic, and OP's bicycle wouldn't get fixed in the 40 day Lemon Law window, either.

Yeah I have had trouble with Trek, Specialized, Walmart Specials, and Lappierre that I imported from France. Anything mechanical is not good.
 
I got the complete service history of my truck and it looks like the dealership was doing work to it before we got it in September.

We got more codes today so I have an appointment at a different dealership Wednesday. The fun continues with this truck.
