Not super concerned about the wear metals as this is the first oil change after the factory fill, but where did the manganese come from? Did not use any fuel additives. Also, the anti-wear additives seem a bit low when compared to other VOA’s and UOA’s on the same oil. Not sure if matters, but did give the jug a good shake before use. In light of the recent PP “controversy”, wondering if the lab’s numbers are suspect.

Still in my opinion(I kinda disagree with Blackstone on this one) and I'm nobody!
Others may disagree with me but I believe that the first 2-3 OCI's should be done early(er) than what most MFG's state in their owner's manual of 10,000 miles. IDK, maybe I'm an idiot but there is something that I don't like with this report. With that much wear metals I'd do a few shorter intervals...at least a few more.
I know, you have a HONDA and I love Honda's but, I just wouldn't go another 9K-10K mile OCI as Blackstone has suggested just yet.
There are some parts of the report(VALUES) that do indeed look just fine. So, take what I say with a grain of salt.

In my instance, the 10,000 mile OCI that Toyota requires for their service intervals, I'll have changed the oil 3X on our new VENZA.
Then and only then I will go ~5,000 mile OCI's. Maybe longer(6K-7K) if we are traveling more HIWY than CITY for a particular OCI. But with all of the stop & go driving that we're doing now and the engine coming on/off as often as it does(between gas motor & electric motor), I'm playing it safe.

Yup! I changed my car's oil at 1200 miles and then again at 3,000 miles. I do 5,000 mile OCI's.

Manganese is in some steel components of your engine it appears. Also, Some additives are sacrificial so can't really compare down to the exact numbers to a VOA. You ran over 9k miles so there will be some lower amounts but I don't see anything out of what you'd typically expect & everything looks good for your break-in period. "Earth Dreams" is in good shape. ;)

The confusion about the manganese came from looking at other UOA’s on Honda engines especially the J35 series ones. Could not find a single one where more than one or two PPM of manganese was detected.

No additives of any kind. 90% of the time it was fueled at the same Shell station along with my other vehicles which never showed a manganese spike in their UOAs.
Did you use different octane rating at the Shell? Some stations might use manganese as an anti-knock additive. Based on BS averages it appears there might be some form of Mn in this engine (3 ppm).
