The 2023 order books opened on the 15th and today they are already closing. The system crashed on the first day. The word is that 80% of the orders were hybrid models. It seems Ford really can’t do anything right these days. Their forcast for the Maverick was 60% Ecoboost 40% hybrid. For the 2022 model year it was the opposite. Now the 2023 leans even more towards the hybrid. You remove two of the lowest MSRP cars from your lineup and then wonder why everyone is ordering the lower cost hybrid Maverick. Dearborn is full of suits that shouldn’t be in their current position.

It’s almost like affordable vehicles with decent mpg are all the rage now. Too bad the Focus and Fusion are gone. Soon enough most of us will be driving our old clunkers around like the car of Theseus.

Most of the orders are probably speculators wanting to flip it to Carmax…just like the Bronco. Everyone’s a hustler these days…it’s gotten so bad Ford has a registry banning people from buying cars as they’re monitoring who flips them. Strange strange times.

Lots of opportunistic flippers apparently….

On the other hand, it sounds like the Maverick is a winner for Ford if it has sold out already.

Sounds like everything is right about Maverick except production capacity if demand is that high. They just build and customers buy it without incentives or sitting around languishing on lots .

A LOT of HYPE over this truck and most likely because of the low cost. It's debateable how well this truck will age (Considering all the other Ford models that haven't done so well). It's interesting to watch people "do what they do" when they think they are getting a "bargain". I think if this truck was priced like most other trucks... people wouldn't be clamoring to buy it. It's not that great.
