2021 Ram 1500 BigHorn vs Silverado LT

I thought this was a reasonable comparison of the highest-volume trim for both brands. Definitely pros/cons to each, but I wish GM made the 6.2 available in their LT trim and gave the interior a makeover. Obviously this review does not go into as much as detail as magazine reviews, but it did give a fairly detailed overview of the cosmetic features and the content you can expect at this price point.

I dont know much about chevy pricing but 2020 ram 1500 with more options were going for 13k off in september.
bighorn level 2 is the answer to his lighting issues.
also he compared a z71 offroad pkg to a regular ram.
Ram has tons of options available.
The chevy dash and radio dont compare well IMO.

The ram offroad package gets different wheels and AT tires.

Overall I dont want to sound like a total ram-fan.. but the ram is nicer.
I drove both. and the ram is there for value too.
even if you loaded it up abit more in options.

I didn't watch the video. But as a Silverado owner-if you can still get the Hemi without any "cylinder displacement/AFM/MSD- whatever they call it I would buy the RAM.

All 5.7 HEMI’s have the feature. Is yours giving you issues?

If you can't option the 6.2 engine, what is the point of putting up with a Chevy? You can have a better truck in Ford and Ram if your just talking about base engines.

My initial impression is that one looks butt ugly, the other looks pretty decent with the exception of the old school halogen headlights.

I'd pick the one with a painted frame...the Ram....not the wax coated frame on the Silverado! That wax comes off like in one winter, or the first time you go off road all the dust sticks to it!

I have made no secret of the fact that my truck which had an MSRP of $54,000.00 lacks in refinement. However-the AFM isn't one of them. The (common) issues I have are power train "clunking" and the torque converter infrequently not unlocking until the last minute and causing a feeling like you have been hit from behind. These issues have not been brought up under warranty to the dealer yet-but based on research I expect no remedy(s). I am waiting for the new Tundra which is supposed to have a 3.5 w/turbos as an option. I was in a 2009 Tundra top of the line model with 100,000 miles on it and it exhibited none of these behaviors.

My wife's 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe XL-Limited is a much more refined vehicle at $20,000.00 less.

I would agree but you can order without.. and save abit of $$$ too.. put it towards the panoramic sunroof, rear locker or limited slip, or any one of a dozen packages.

Also hydro blue looks really nice in person.. that video washes it out abit.. my 2019 cherokee is hydro blue.. a color exclusive to the trailhawk in 2019.

I have a few 2020 big horn trim rams For work. Staff love them. I’m loving mine.

Much better product than the GM offering. GM went all out with their big refresh a year back and it was laughable how bad it was. Ford’s half decade old interiors and powertrain choices were better than the brand new GM and the new Ram is hands down better.

eTorque was a $200 option. The eTorque trucks feel slightly stronger off the line and the start/stop is extremely smooth. I think it is worth the extra $200 and risk.

What is the warranty on the eTorque components and battery pack on Ram 1500s (without buying extended)? Just curious if any of it is beyond the standard 5/60.

In my mind, both of those trucks are so nice I'd have a hard time deciding, other than having been in some newer silverados, I like the seating comfort of my Ram classics better.

Only relevant if you live in the salt belt. For you definitely relevant, for anybody who lives anywhere they don't put salt on the roads, definitely irrelevant.

Here in Texas the frame will outlast the engine and transmission, with or without paint.
