What is the warranty on the eTorque components and battery pack on Ram 1500s (without buying extended)? Just curious if any of it is beyond the standard 5/60.

In my mind, both of those trucks are so nice I'd have a hard time deciding, other than having been in some newer silverados, I like the seating comfort of my Ram classics better.
ETorque warranty is limited to the 8/80 federal, extended warranty excludes the eTorque battery.

That's cool. Anything over the 5/60 is a bonus.
Still waiting for the day that these trucks become PZEV. Then eTorque will be 10/150 in many states.
But I doubt that will ever happen.

Rams arent pzev?(partial zero emissions vehicle) my 2011 forester was?

I would also go etorque for 200$ but many buy the truck on the lot or want to avoid it.. so choice is good.

That system has been somewhat trouble prone.

I'm glad they give you a choice to buy the eTorque or not. It's a shame a person can't opt out of start/stop. I'm glad it can be turned off.

GM's reply to the 8 speed lawsuits was that it was a design flaw, not a manufacturing defect so they shouldn't be held responsible (even though they designed the darn thing). After dealing with my Sierra for a year before trading it for a F-150 I don't think I'll go back to GM.

As someone who seriously looked into purchasing a 2020 Chevy TrailBoss, do NOT go GM this generation. They are plagued with serious issues. Electronic braking, electronic steering, their AFM clown engines, the horrible clunking transmission, the oil cooler hose breaking free and seizing your engine, leaking rear windows.. List goes on and on. This generation of trucks is full of issues and GM is NOT fixing them. I would wait for the new Tundra. RAM is nice, but also has Some issues. Ford has a few issues too. and well, its a Ford F150, an incredibly overpriced light duty truck. and I do mean light. Brother n law has a new 2021 F150 and it feels like you're driving a crossover its so light with all the aluminum and with the small ecoboost engine. Hardly a "truck" .. the F150 is a good nice truck.. just incredibly expensive and very light duty =/
Where have all the good trucks gone?

Wow.. what a bunch of nonsense. GM didn't do squat about my generation 2007-2014 AFM engine problems too. Makes you wonder why we spend all this money on new nice trucks.. Rather just invest in something older that works or lease.... there aren't too many options anymore. I just want a solid transmission, solid driving feel (strong Truck not an SUV-light), and a V8 engine with no start/off AFM, cylinder deactivation garbage... Maybe the F250 with the gasser is what I'm looking for..

I thought it was so new it was just unknown? link to issues?

Regular Hemi's dont have start/stop AFAIK.
3.6 I believe does have it?
Etorque hemi has it??

This might not be correct but what I could find supports it.

From the first refernced forum-
My daughter's 2019 Rebel had the 48v battery fail about a month after she bought it. Then it sat in the shop for almost a month before they received the replacement part. But that made a little more sense since it happened in Sept. 2018, and the etorque system was brand new. We weren't surprised that the battery was not readily available. Makes less sense now that the system has been in production for a couple of years.

That system has been somewhat trouble prone.
Only on the very early models before the software updates were implemented.

The etorque saves a decent amount of fuel during the long drive thru lines.

sounds a lot like a tundra

The next generation Tundra will have some of these "features"-guaranteed. Will be coming out end of next year most likely. But I guess you are right-the Tundra is the best 12ish years old "new truck" you can buy.

That's more so the point I'm making. These features seem to be the way of the future and to get a new manufactured vehicle without them you have to take a 12 year old design. However with that you get a very proven platform without those features.
