2020 Tucson wrecked, looking for a relatively reliable SUV

Not sure if it was part of the bearing recall or not.

I think I settles on this MDX though

Purchased the SH-AWD MDX today. 1 owner, was purchased new, and serviced by, this same dealership I bought it from.
7500 mile OCI's including AWD service when due according to carfax.
Timing belt, water pump w/flush, serpentine belt, and more done a few months ago.

Is a "Acura certified used". Aparrlently there tiers of Acura Certified. This falls on the lowest category, which is a factory warranty for 6-mo or 7500 miles from date of purchase.

I take delivery tomorrow.

Take a peek at the lower control arms and the front struts — easily visible with the tire turned. The bushings like to tear very easily and those arms are $$$.

I was hit from behind, and my Tucson with 52k miles likely will get totaled. Body shop said a visual quote is at $15k for repairs, but they need authorization to dig deeper and suspect they will find more damage. Insurance is sending another adjuster to evaluate.

So, I am getting lost in the research. One can find the Good and the Bad, of every make and model online

Vehicles that have features/styles i like or can afford are:
2018-2022 Enclave
2018-2022 Traverse or Acadia
2018-2021 Pilot
2016-2019 MDX
2020+ Rogue
2020+ Santa Fe / Sorrento
2020+ Murano
2018-2022 Pathfinder

Most of these have their share of issues when I research. GM transmissions, timing chain, Nissan CVTs, etc. For Honda, the mileage in my price range puts them close to timing belt maintenance.

Just wanted to get some others perspective.

Don't really want anything smaller than Tucson/RAV4/CRV and prefer a little larger.

I like some of the European SUV designs, but reliability fears, cost to maintain, and insurance cost worries, i believe put these out of the running.

Looking below $20k so I dont have to finance.

Thanks

Have 3 G01 X3s in the family with the B48 and ZF 8 speed - extremely reliable and so nice to drive and ride in. Would highly recommend for a small cross over.

Whatever vehicle Car Wizard recommends. However you may be walking because unless you can find a low mileage 10 year old Corolla or Camry he's out of ideas.

Great question SC. Im wondering as well. It is currently delinquent in required maintenance.

I asked the salesman about this, is (uninformed) response was, "it's 100k or 7 years, so you have some time before it needs to be replaced"

"Sometimes, there just ain't enough rocks"
To quote Forest.

I think I would make the belt part of the deal.

Or else an appropriate price adjustment to compensate for the service.
If the previous owner was that marginal on maintenance, and the dealer is truly that clueless on what CPO means, you might want to take a pass.

My in-laws gifted my wife their 2020 RDX, @Cmobile. When my wife got in it the first time, I said to her. "On this vehicle, as soon as you hit the START button, I want you to press this button right here (A)" Wife: "What's that button for?" Me: "So that it doesn't stall at every stop light" Wife: "That's so annoying" :ROFLMAO:
I had to teach that to my wife with my Wrangler as well. She said she would freak out if the Jeep engine stopped on her while she was stopped. Remembering to hit it only takes one stoplight as a reminder for her.

Congratulations! MDX is a solid choice. Got any pictures?

Got a few shopping car dings, but that's expected for age/miles
