2019 Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE! Full Teardown W/

Anytime I see 1 of these videos, I always wonder what oil was used and what the OCI's were.
Same. That engine appeared to have early varnish and the pistons were exceptionally dirty.

I would bet the OCI was too long for starters and who knows what oil was used. Most, if not all, EcoBoost engines have some dilution issues and if the OCI was extended, then all bets are off.

I have already determined that 5K is the max OCI I will run in my 2.7L.

Which city is that? I wanna see that wall on google maps.
I'm a Ford guy :)

I have to get a little goofy on all of the "ECOBOOSTS ARE BLOWING UP" comments. I love mine. The 10r80 - I have less love for. Usually I go with "the sides of interstates are jammed with blown up {insert 'problem child' vehicle here} because the lines to the scrapyard are 20 miles deep to let {problem child vehicle in} cause they all blow up" but this time I envisioned a mighty wall of blown up Ecoboosts protecting us from the zombie hordes and mushroom people.

I was sure my 700-800 million ecoboosts made (cause gotta replace them all dozens of times) was a surefire indicator of my goofiness.

Here's mine - no drips on the concrete and that's been my spot since I bought it! It's still on Ecoboost #1, but because (per les internyets) I know it's a ticking time bomb I started clearing out racks in my warehouse to fill up with crate motors 'cause I know I'll need 20, maybe 30 within the next 2 years.

and I'll add a pic of the city - and because I wanted to save Charlotte NC as well as my own little town - it all has a 40 foot high wall of blown motors around it. I need those Charlotteans to be my cannon fodder for the zombies and mushroom people. Plus, I've always wanted to be Rick Grimes. Or Negan. Or Joel. Whatever it takes. Plus there's lots of resources in Charlotte.

My warehouse racks for my little army of Ecoboost replacement crates! Up to 25 spots.

My wall of protection. I had a little trouble figuring out the logistics of protectingmy power plant on Lake Wylie (I only opted to keep the nuclear one, not the coal or water ones), but I might end up keeping one of the hydraulics. Redundancy ya know. I opted for just welding together a wall from the lake floor extending up 60 feet above lake level (flood level just to be safe). At first I didn't think we had enough Eco's to do all of that, but I just had to wait a week for another million or so blow up.

Love ya Subes! Your truck is very nice too.

Oh, You can't see it on Google. I let the owner buy a house in Charlotte in exchange for keeping it off Maps. Owner is very happy with my plan. I started calling owner Darryl and now Darryl is COMPLETELY on board. First we tried out Ellie, but owner was all hissy about being a girl.

See how unhappy Ellie looks :( Darryl is much happier.

Mine does have dilution. So I use decent oil at a fairly short interval. I was at 7500 for the first 65k, but lately it's been more around 5k. Thanks BITOG. Thanks in particular who the one person who put it this way "take a cup of gas and add it to the oil next change" - that really made me think about it. No names mentioned but his avatar used to be really cool and I think he drove VW's around the Road to Dushanbe.

Is it really that bad? Is this because of the ease of tuning them without building them up, or is there something else? When I was more involved in the RV community, people were quite happy with them in those circles.
laws no

M-O-O-N, that spells good engine. Not perfect, cause even Godzilla dies in some of the movies...... but good.
