It has the 10 speed. The online manuals have since been updated to say ULV. Just wasn't sure if maybe the early 18s had LV instead of ULVDoes your truck have the 10 or 6 speed. Sounds like it has the 6 speed if you're saying LV but I thought the ecoboosts came with the 10 speed starting in 2018. If that 3.5 does have the 6 speed then the best off the shelf fluid is Valvoline Extended Protection atf. You could use maxlife but i'd upgrade to the EP one.
If it has the 10 speed then it takes ULV. I'd look at ford and gm dealer pricing as sometimes they're cheaper than non dealer fluid and both are the same. I got napa brand ulv which is made by valvoline on sale for cheap.
I think if you bring your VIN to a dealer parts dept, they can give you the latest fluid recommendations.
ULV for sure and if it was my truck I’d use something like Amsoil I’m a Ford guy but I personally wouldn’t go back with MotorcraftIt has the 10 speed. The online manuals have since been updated to say ULV. Just wasn't sure if maybe the early 18s had LV instead of ULV
Nothing wrong with the MC fluid, but you need to keep up with the changes regardless of what fluid you use. Growing body of evidence that particulates in the fluid are causing premature valve body wear. Only way to combat it is fresh fluid way more often than what Ford calls for. Only reason I don't use a 'premium' fluid is my change schedule would break the bank.ULV for sure and if it was my truck I’d use something like Amsoil I’m a Ford guy but I personally wouldn’t go back with Motorcraft
Then use Valvoline ULV. Add pack is better than MCNothing wrong with the MC fluid, but you need to keep up with the changes regardless of what fluid you use.
