The only truck Ford had used a steel fuel tank in is the cab/chassis for at least 20 years, probably longer as I know my '02 had a poly tank. Ford also updated to the CP-4 fuel pump several years ago, along with GM.
The Aisin isn't any better than the Ford offering, we have both '15 Ford 1 ton dual & 1 ton Ford SRW. It must be the FCA programming as it shifts constantly on overpasses and other small grades. Both were bought new and the Dodge has been back to the dealer several times, the last for an oil leak. The trans had to be dropped to repair cam seal. The Cummins drinks fuel compared to the 6.7 Powerstroke as both trucks run the same route/load/speed.
I am going to lean towards the Ford, but thats all I have had for over 30 years, my dad has always had the preference for the Dodge/Ram offerings and I have seen too many problems over the years from Dodge trucks he has owned to ever consider buying one.

I drive the '15 Super Duty, which does have the newer style turbo with the exhaust brake. Yes it works as designed along with the tow/haul feature which downshifts to help with slowing down/stopping.

I'm not currently a Diesel pickup owner, but this is pretty much what I would say.
I am in the market for a new truck to replace my Sierra Denali. Nothing wrong with it, going to pass it on to my son.
I have to say, even though I work for GM, I am getting a RAM Long Horn Edition. I try to prove to people here that I am not biased and know a good vehicle when I see one. The GM trucks have a slight edge on power but I just cannot get over how BEAUTIFUL the interior is on the RAM. Thoughtful touches everywhere (floor bins!), nice soft touch materials, 4 wheel air suspension etc. The GM interior, even in Denali trim is awful in comparison. The fact that the wife drives a Grand Cherokee Overland and shares the NAV setup and switches as the RAM also draws me in because its a nice setup. Right now they are running a 20% off sale and even in Longhorn trim loaded up w/o the sales the price is less than what I can get a GM with my employee discount. I would decided to stay with 2nd top trim (Long Horn) over the top level Limited because the HUGE RAM lettering in the back is tacky and you don't really get anything more other than a few chrome pieces. I also like 2 tone paint and GM abandoned that many years ago. So, yes, GMBoy will be getting a RAM truck sometime in the near future. I will drive my other GM vehicles to work for those who would ask lol.

He has such an issue that he simply loses it about Mopar in general. Lumping RAM in that category is a mistake. We are rapidly approaching 50k miles on our 2014 RAM and are simply delighted with it.

Thanks everyone for your insight on this. Before I am getting to look at the Ford's, the wife is heading in to look at a darker blue (cant remember the name of it) Megacab. Its a lower optioned SLT. Center console (not a huge fan) no backup cameras but some other odds and ends. My main options I like on my trucks: tow hooks, skid plates and heavier duty cooling packages if available. I opted out of the air suspension as I foresee issues several years down the line with our nice and warm Sask climate so I would like to avoid that.
Well it appears we bought the Megacab. True blue pearl SLT. My wife took a look, loved it and well she is the boss. Waiting on the gooseneck and box liner to be installed and then go pick it up in a day or two. I am putting on the trailering tail gate right away so I dont mash up the new one and then shop for some fender flares.

We bought from Denham in Lloydminster. Seemed pretty good to deal with. Communication between us and the salesman was great, we weren't pushed or prodded on anything. In fact we gave a list of what we liked and they searched and found us options from all over Alberta and into Sask and offered to bring anything in for us to look at or try even.
They seemed reasonable to deal with and we were able to barter some on price/trade in. Overall I was quite happy. Not to say I was not happy with Scott Campbell Dodge in North Battleford where we bought our 1500 but I think Denham came across as less sneaky and pushy.
I am still wanting to test out the Superduty's though.....
