I guess given a choice between Ferrari F430 and Acura Legend, I too will have to reluctantly go with the Ferrari.

Your comparison would have been more appropriate if you had compared your mom's Acura Legend to your wife's brother's sister-in-law's cousin's Bugatti Vryon :-)

My next door neighbors daughters Ferrari F430 is a much nicer and more satisfying car in every way [ it is the only ferrari I like].

Acura NSX, Integra, S2000 and first gen TSX were the driving machines they made.

NSX put Ferrari to shame in 1990.

Is he really comparing a mid 2000s Ferrari F430 to a Legend and an RL?

Pretty much anybody that knows will agree that the Acura NSX had a serious effect on Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini.
Before the NSX, if it overheated in traffic or parts routinely just fell off, that was just part of Supercar ownership (unless you had a Porsche 959 and if you did, then I would like to say, "Hello Bill Gates")

Yeah I am but then I wouldn't buy any Italian car if you gave me the money. I would think about a Porsche though. The most enjoyable afternoon in a car was back in 1986 when I got a wonderful ride in a 1976 pumped Porsche 930 it had a very firm ride it would press you back into the seat when accelerating and it made wonderful noise. It stirred up motor feelings that don't often get stirred.
