5 weeks ago, I picked up this 2015 Boxster Base with the 2.7L Flat 6, 33,429 miles on the odometer. Carfax reflects the most recent oil change at 31,745 on 03/29/2024... 14 months and 1,820 miles ago.

Here's the UOA on that oil. I will say that I forgot to pull a sample during mid drain and only collected it close to the end of the flow. The results do not appear to indicate anything negative, so I'll take that as a good sign. Porsche recommends Mobil 1 and has stickers "under the hood" of all their cars stating such. I wonder if the oilheads on BITOG can determine this fill by it's composition...?

I replaced with 7.5 qts of Valvoline European 5W40 and plan on 5K UOAs. That should be a once per year ODI.

Past history before your ownership doesn’t mean squat. They didn’t drive like you. Do in-service sample at 5k and change immediately when results come in if they’re negative. If neutral, shoot 7.5k or 10k. Continue til oil is 1 grade lower or 2 grades higher.

Nice, thanks. Love that interior. Were you torn between the Boxster and the Cayman? I flip back and forth... I guess Florida weather would be tie breaker for me to lean Boxster

Torn between Boxster and Cayman? Absolutely! My preference was Cayman, but now that I have the soft top, I believe it's the one to have, it just feels a little more special. I don't expect to have the top down much during these scorching summer days, but winter is going to be fun! Watch videos and check the Porsche boards as you move along your purchase journey... Happy shopping!
