Excellent! I'm happy it helped! Mine has been great with it and now uses nearly 0 between changes. Enjoy that Sky.

Dont always assume factory oil is the same as recommended oil. An engine with world wide availability might ship with an ACEA A3 5w30 (Thick 30 weight with 3.5 HT/HS) while USA recommendation is 0W20 (2.6 HTHS). An engine built in Europe might ship with Castrol 5W20 A5 Synthetic (2.9) while USA recommended oil is MC 5W20 (2.7) Blend.

I bought my 2015 malibu with 15 miles on it last August and i read the manuel when i got home and it said to not cruise at one speed for the first 500 miles amd to vary your speed to break in the engine.

I know a lot of people on the Mazda forums use an oil catch can to trap the oil that gets sucked up into the PCV system, it might be worth looking into.

I watched a video of a guy who removed his intake and found pools of oil just sitting in there (car was almost new). That oil gets plastered onto the back of the intake valves, coating them, leading to huge carbon deposits and misfires. It's becoming an issue with direct injection cars, which I assume the Mazda 3 is. It won't solve your oil consumption problem, but it will keep that oil from going places you don't want it to go.

Google oil catch can for the Mazda 3...plenty of "how to" videos will pop up.

And by time the warranty is over, the engine is shot from running on 0W-20.

Feel free to prove that a Mazda SkyActiv-G engine is worn out after 60k miles while using 0W-20.
