2014 Subaru Forester or Legacy

In 2012 when I was shopping to replace my Outback wagon…I actually held out an extra year for the new Impreza to come out. But after driving the Impreza, the Forrester and the Legacy it was a no brainer as the Legacy was much smoother, quieter, roomer, and basically the same price and got approximately the same gas mileage.

The Legacy works great for me, and I find the trunk to be plenty big especially with the seats folded down. Perhaps some find the trunk opening a little small? My brother has a 2010 Outback and it has been trouble free as well…neither of us have had oil consumption issues which seems to be fairly common place with the new 2.0 liter motor.

I haven’t driven the new Forrester but I have to admit the turbo version does look sweet! To be honest if I did it over again I would strongly consider the 3.6 liter Legacy as I find the 2.5 to be underpowered at times. Also, I do sort of miss having the wagon and the extra space with really no loss in performance vs. the Legacy.
