You will not, that is for sure. Especially Honda. I got next to no discounting on my car at all when I got it, mind you, they had 0% financing as an incentive, and that is the only way to buy if financing!

A friend bought one simply because he had to have a car and it was inexpensive. The word "cheap" echoes through the car in every respect. The ride and handling are atrocious. Only get one for your wife if you wish her to be your EX wife.....awful excuse for a car.
the cool (and possibly frustrating) thing these days, is the compact market is very competative. you really cannot go wrong with whatever you pick. the key thing is to stick with it for the long run. i would also advise against leasing unless you can get a corporate/small business writeoff.

I would disagree, there are still some real dogs out there. The Corolla for one.

The B13 Sunny/Sentra was the last good Nissan to bear the Sentra name. In 2006, when I rented a Sentra I just remember seeing the door frame on the hinge side bending and flexing when the front door was opened to it's limit; I have never seen that on a car before or since.

I love the B13 as well, they never sold the SE-R here which is criminal, I'd kill to have one. I think the last great Sentra though was up until the end of production for the SR20 powered SE 2.0. I almost bought one back in 2001, I should have.
I actually liked the previous generation of Sentra as well, not for its sportiness or anything, but it was comfortable and was a nice riding car.. The new one I thought was fine as well but its totally lost its heritage 100%, it's just an appliance now, but at least with a massive back seat. The powertrain "options" (none) is a shame. I believe it's 130HP, it's pretty slow.

The one before the current generation didn't seem as ... awfully proportioned.
The last good Sentra was the 1991-1994 model.
I have not seen good durability from any Sentra after that. Trouble-prone short lived engines, prematurely failing McPherson struts, and cheap interiors.
