Thinking about getting a 2015 Nissan Sentra SV

I had a 16 Versa SV as a rental, the wind caught that car too easily. I had to constantly fight the steering wheel to keep it in between the lines. It was good on gas, though.

That's what I was planning and from the looks of things I will stay the course with a late model corolla.

I am not sure what you are looking for as far as driving dynamics but the Corolla is lacking. They are reliable cars for sure but boring to drive, consider Honda / Mazda / VW if this matters to you.

The Corolla is a rental car, bland and boring. For a pure appliance, try a 5 speed Mirage.

A friend has a '14 or '15 Sentra with about 40k on it. I've driven it and I find it to be complete junk. I've had mostly domestics but our '12 Subaru is great and really like what I see in a Mazda 3. From driving this Sentra and online research, I would never recommend one.

There are better cars than the Corolla on gas, too.

See if this link works for you:

This will compare the Civic, Mazda 3, Corolla, and the Elantra all on one page.

I recommend test driving the ones you like the most, and getting a good feel for the vehicle.

BC.

The Sentra with the base motor is somewhat of an underwhelming car. Doesn't make it complete junk like many of the folks here who haven't owned one think. That being said I would skip the Sentra. A base Altima can probably be had for the same price. It will have much more power, and probably return the same or better fuel economy. 13-15 Altimas are rated at 38 mpg on the hwy. Pricing will be close. There are lots of Altima deals out there.
