In general, I'd probably go for the Mobil 1 over the Castrol, but that's just me.
Not sure I'd travel 100 km to get the Fuchs, but I have no experience with them yet, and it's 5 euros per 4 litres more too.
I think you might need 4,3 litres for an oil change for that engine, if so, you'd need to get an extra litre bottle (seems they're usually more expensive, but maybe that depends), find a 5 litre bottle (not sure if Fuchs sells them, maybe Mobil 1 does), or buy an extra 4 litre jug once in a while.
I have a bottle of Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL that is maybe ~2-3 years old, it says 'FULLY SYNTHETIC' on the front, 'Made in the EU' on the back. It was sold in Poland. I wonder if the label was different in Germany.
I've seen some EDGE 5W-30 LL online that say 'HC-Synthese'. Hmmm.. It would be a bit of a bummer, but I wouldn't be surprised if 'fully synthetic' in Poland, and possibly other places in Europe, is actually HC synthesized.
Have you considered Shell Helix Ultra C2/C3 0W-30?

Cost may be similar or slightly less than the Mobil 1 or Castrol? I think it's sold in Canada as Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX 0W-30.
I'm not sure how good it is compared to the others, but Shell is obviously another 'big petroleum company' option. What, if anything, that means for the quality of the oil, I don't know.
Not sure how its longevity would compare to the 5W-30 oils either, but it has VW 504.00/507.00, some MB Approvals, Porsche C30, etc, and maybe it would be better for some winter days than a 5W-30?
I find it interesting that, for VW engines at least, there is no distinction between 'standard' and 'severe' service (please correct me if I'm wrong), and changes are specified at simply 15,000 km / 1yr. In North America, at least for some asian cars I've seen, for 'severe' use (which includes short trip use), the regular specified oil change interval is halved, both km and time. All of Canada is considered 'severe' service for them too. I wonder what someone should do if they do short trips in Canada. lol
Hope that helps.
