[94 saturn sl1 2000 saturn sc2]

Just bought a 2010 HHR 2LT 2.4 liter . DOes the factory put in special oil with more additives ect as the fill oil or can i switch it out early and go with the synthetic I will run in this motor or do i need to let it go 3000 or so with the factory oil ?

Not special oil in there from the factory. I'd go the 3000 miles like you said and then switch to the synthetic oil you want.

Take the FF and those metal shavings out at 500-1,000 miles, then change it again at 3,000 miles...

I'd leave the FF in and wait until 3000 or so to do the first oil change. FF tends to have some residual assembly lube in it, which is not a bad thing, if anything a little extra moly or zinc.
