Would this be detrimental in anyway? Would doing a single drain and refill with Toyota coolant be sufficient?

You're good. It's better to have a full capacity of same coolant, than a mixture from different manufacturers, no matter how compatible they say they are. Going forward just use the same universal green coolant.

Definitely a no. All I've used in my two old iron blocks is universal green coolant since new and they have over 600k miles combined. Also it seems that color specific coolants are a lie too. They have a tint to make people feel warm and fuzzy but are the same thing but truthfully it's not impossible to make a good universal coolant, it just takes better engineering.

Prestone looks like a green but with a bit of a yellow undertone. There is no way to find out. Flush and refill with the right stuff. I tell people what coolant has been used for future reference.

Can I just flush it out with water and install the Toyota coolant afterwards?

Toyota coolant is Phosphated Organic Acid Technology (PHOAT), the green stuff could have been anything. You would need to send a sample of your coolant to a lab to find out.

The potential problem is that the green coolant might contain silicates. Silicates and phosphates can interact with each other and cause accelerated corrosion. The lower the concentration of silicates the more likely it becomes that they will interact negatively.

I would either thoroughly flush the system with water and refill with Toyota coolant, or leave it as is and only use Prestone style universal All Makes All Models coolant going forward.

Ironically, it was done by a Toyota dealership previously. They had flushed the cooling system once at 82k. At 88k, the radiator busted, they flushed it again with the green coolant. No idea why..

I think they may have used this as it did looked yellow green:

According to Prestone it can be mixed. Assuming I am safe?

If that's what they used (you should call and ask like @JeffKeryk suggested), then yes, it's safe to mix with Toyota SLLC.

If they did a proper flush I would probably just stick with Prestone going forward, it will provide acceptable performance.

It's still annoying that they didn't use the proper coolant though. Just because they can use Prestone to refill or top off any vehicle that comes through their shop doesn't mean they should. Mixed coolants can not be counted on to provide the same level of corrosion protection as a single coolant can. For example if you read the fine print on the 10k mile Prestone guarantee, you'll find that said guarantee is only valid if you do a flush/drain and fill with Prestone.

I know right? Why would the dealership not have Toyota coolant in stock?

I would flush that stuff out with a hose, heater on high....And flush again,,and again. Then I would install the OEM coolant. Run it good and long. Then sacrifice that coolant to make sure I got all the tap water minerals out of the system. Then, refill with OEM coolant and dump it once a year just to make sure you got everything out. Seems like a waste of $$$$$$. After 2 years, leave it alone

Decided to flush it will distilled water until clear then add the pink coolant. Thanks guys.

Good idea with the distilled water :) Much better than tap water any day. Off topic about that 2AZ-FE engine. Unfortunately, 2006 was the last of the " great" ones. Then Toyota changed them a bit, put a thinner grade of oil in them, and they became oil burners. I have an 06' Camry Le / 120k / 5W30 oil. Those were the last of them. Probably had something to do with gas mileage being the reason for the change in them. I also have an 03' Solara / 2AZ-FE / 5W-30 / 128k. They are bullet proof engines in my eyes. I'm just curious if your's turned into an oil burner like the rest of them. You may have the last of those engines. Lemme know please. I'm sure if you kept up on the oil, never ran it to the idiot light, it's fine. Just curious.

Sorry to hear that iCurious. What can I say ? Toyota screwed up one of their best engines ever they ever manufactured. It's a shame :(. Just keep a close eye on the oil level. I remember when this all happened. A co-worker bought a used 2009 Rav 4. He kept complaining that the idiot light was coming on and the engine was out of oil. I didn't believe him. I said " Really ? The 2AZ-FE engine ? . You probably never changed the crush washer, and it was drippin oil. " Little did I know....I had a 1974 Chevy Vega 4cyl/ automatic. Used just about 4 qts. of oil in 180 highway miles. Had to plumb a breather hose under the car & tie it up to something. That's how much oil it was pushin ring blow-by. I don't think you're Toyota will ever get that bad. Best of luck :)
