Thanks for posting.

Fantastic results! My local PepBoys used to carry Formula Shell as their house brand (Proline) and i wish they still did (they changed to WPP).

The Shell sheared a bit, as it starts out at 10.7 @ 100*C, but considering your city driving style and the amount of miles, i'm not sure that many much more expensive oils would have done any better.

With results like this, i'd stick with the Shell if you can get it on the cheap.

Agreed. Cones are white, no oil deposits. Heat range is perfect.

Especially if those are 60K plugs!

Cheers!

p.s. They look great if they are 30K plugs: that's what they are SUPPOSED to look like!

I'll stick with the "Wife's" oil choice from now on. Seems she can pick a better and cheaper oil than me with all my "auto knowledge"

ATM.

PARMIJO , do have any of the SHELL oil bottles left or the box it came in ? I ask this because I would like to know the date the oil was manufactured . The date is usually stamped on the top of the box on the side . There's also a date stamped on the bottom of the bottle on the back . Reason I ask this is due to a debate that the new formulation for the SHELL oil is of poor quality . If it's a newer date that would most likely debunk that statement . We're currently using the SHELL 5w-30 for both our cars . Bought it at BJs Wholesale in the 12 quart case . Ours is dated MARCH 2010 . THANKS

I dont think its "poor quality" - just not as good as it once was ON PAPER. I have the old and new datasheets if you want to compare. It still has to meet ILSAC GF4/SM.

Thanks . I would think the '09 and 2010 would be the same formula since newer Technical Data Sheet is dated 2007 . No ? Do feel more at ease

the 5w-30 is 10.75 for Visc. , cST , 100 C . Comparable to GTX ( 10.8 ) and VALVOLINE 5w-30 ( 10.78 ) . No mention for the HT/HS . Wonder if it's higher than 3 ( would think so ) . I'm a bit new to this

Hey Johnny, speaking of "my heart just skipped a beat," Check out this classic Freestyle song by The Cover Girls called "My Heart Skipped A Beat." I think you'll enjoy it!
