2005 grand cherokee 3.7 v6

can anybody share info on the reability of this engine? im asking becouse im thinking of buying one that has this engine with 47k on it for only 10995.00
the GC is a 4x4 outside loooks brand new,any comments please??

Aunt has one with that engine, she says it's a dog, but other than that it seems fine.

My mom has almost 60K on her's, and so far no engine trouble.

I flushed the factory G-05 coolant out in 2007, filled it with Zerex G-05, and it was very worthwhile.

I switched from 5w30 syn to 5w20 syn and gained a few tenths MPG. The latest 3.7 has some new smog equipment but is basically the same, and it uses 5w20.

However, the transmission (Benz 5AT) leaked ATF, it needed some new O-rings and a new pan gasket. See if this one has gone to the dealer to get the recalled O-rings put in.

I didn't know they were using the 3.7 V-6 in the Grand Cherokee?

I know the Liberty uses the 3.7 V-6, but I thought since discontinuing the 4.0 I-6, the Cherokees were just 4.7 V-8s only?

If the want to use a V-6 in the GC, I'm suprised they don't use the larger 4.0 V-6 from the Dodge Nitro.....
