2002 Escort using 0w40

Is it alright to continue use of Mobil 1 0w40 Euro + Lubegard Biotech Engine Treatment or should i switch to rotella t5 10w30 or t6 5w40 or maybe havoline pro ds i hear supertech full synthetic is a good one as well or QS HM DEFY or GC 0w40. What do you all think?

Try the M1 0W40 with no additives.

A 0w-40 is not too thick for cold temperatures. In fact, at really, really cold temperatures, it's going to be thinner at startup than any 5w-XX or 10w-XX.

Why didn't you stick with the 5w20 oil that's recommended by the manufacturer? I have a Ford Taurus which calls for 5w20 and I've used that pretty much all the time, up to 200k now. If anything, I'd be tempted to try 0w20, but that's about it. Thicker isn't always better especially on an engine that isn't designed for it. I'd also stop wasting money on additives too. They are not recommended by the manufacturer.

M1 0w-40 is fine for your car and fine for cold temperatures. The 0w-30 might be better unless you need 40-weight for some reason.

If it burns or leaks oil, the high mileage 5w-30 is the way to go.

Skip the additives. That oil's great as it is.

I have run 5w30 full syn before, i know i dont wanna run 0w-20 or 5w20 cause thats when the engine gets a little noisy or some oil that shears alot after 3k on conventional i switched to full syn around 50k cause it would use a little oil but doesnt burn anything now.

M1 0W40 should be able to do 10k OCI easily.

Another option...You may be able to run German Castrol 0w30 in your vehicle during the winter. Just make sure that you can run a API-SL.....if it is under warranty. M1 0w30 is another option.

Run a 0w20 like Mobil 1 AFE or Toyota Genuine 0w20

Try a 20 grade like the manufacturer recommends. That little engine will thank you. You'll feel more pep from the engine.

Is that a ZX-2 Zetec or the regular Escort?

I'd drop down to M1 0w30 if you want to go thicker than spec. and I'd drop the additives....they aren't needed with these top shelf oils.

Warren Performance Products (Nebraska) package most of the Supertech, but Mobil, Sopus, and Citgo might also bottle it in some markets.

Run whatever you want as all listed are good. I run Havoline and a Rotella T5:10w40/5w20 mix in my "Old-baru". You can try the new Xw-30 HEDO oils if you can find them. Mobil, Shell, and Chevron have been moving that direction and they are normally SM/SN rated.
