I'm looking the change the rear shocks on my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was more worried about loosening the top bolts but both came loose easily. I could not budge the bottom bolts. I'm trying to find new bolts and nuts for the bottom before I get too sassy with them and round them off. Does anyone know what size bolt and nut they are? Napa is closed so I called Pep Boys and Advance...with no luck. Thanks in advance.

I just sawzalled the nut part that's welded to the mount. They came right out. I took a shocked to my local auto parts store and thy found mr a nut and bolt that fit and just bolted the new shocks in. Just really tighten the new nit and bolts.

You need an impact, those will zip off with ease. I did 4 shocks and steering dampener on a 02 in under 20 mins. Air tools are your friends.

My 04 is the same....I'm spraying it with PB Blaster every day or so for a few days....should come right off.

I am embarrased to ask, but it did not appear the nut is welded to the shock mount on the axle. I've been spraying with PB Blaster for the last week.

Guys, just ran outside and the nut is welded to the mount....had no trouble loosening the bolts. Thanks for the advice.
