20 SWD Eaton breaker trips

You should be putting in 20 amp outlets if it's #12 wire and a 20 amp breaker.

Always use the screw terminals. Never the back wire.
All the rest of the outlets on this circuit are 15 amp. SC code says if multiple outlets then you can have 15 amp outlets on a 20 amp circuit. If there is only one outlet, it has to be a 20 amp. Not sure what wire. I assume 12 since it’s a 20 amp breaker. I’ll find out when I do the swap.

Yeah, I always have used the screw terminals.

Appreciate everyone’s help.

Back wire where the wire(s) are secured by tightening the screw are fine, actually better when you need two wires on one screw or the wires in the box are not long enough to wrap around the screw. This type makes a solid connection. The one to not use are where the wires simply push in and grab.

UPDATE:

Pulled out the GFCI outlet and replaced with a Leviton standard outlet. Pretty easy to do. Seems to be working fine. Any changes I'll update.

Thanks everyone for your input. Appreciate it.
