15 rounds Glock magazines for the Glock 43X/48

Isn't that expensive for a Glock magazine? I ask because that is in the price range of what a genuine HK magazine costs for a VP9/P30 or VP9SK, and Glock fans are always telling me that HK magazines are expensive.

When i went to a Sig P365x because it's 12-rd flush magazines allow pocket carry, I was completely comfortable with that. If i can't solve a confrontation with 12 rounds of LE 147gr HST, I usually have 2 spare magazines with 11 rounds loaded, yes, 11, not 12. If you do a tactical or "Executive" reload (done with a round in the chamber) it's far easier to insert and lock the magazine, Sig P365x magazines are VERY tight when fully loaded, I'd rather have it lock easily rather than risk having it drop. Average of rounds exchanged in a confrontation (statistically) is 3.2, so with 12 initially, I'm comfortable.

Ok. Wow. They have went up quite a bit since I stocked up a few years ago, when I paid $32 - $35 for 17 round VP9/P30 magazines. I guess they are quite a bit more expensive.
Yes. Everything is more expensive now.
I'm ok paying 29 for the Glock. Dont even need to change the mag catch/release.

Also, it's a Glock :)

I'm not familiar enough with Glock. What do you mean about not having to change the mag catch/release?
Needed if using 15 rounders Shield steel magazines. The mag catch is plastic and will wear out with use.

These Glock steel mags have some anti friction coating to protect the mag catch.

Glock made magazines are a stainless body encased in polymer. The polymer magazine release works perfect... with a polymer magazine body.

Aftermarket companies (Shield) introduced a metal magazine to increase capacity in the G43X from 10 to 15. These required the use of a metal magazine release so that the polymer mag release didn't get chewed up. And these aftermarket mags were of dubious quality. They worked for some, but not so well for others.

Introduce MecGar, the worlds largest magazine manufacturer and maker of many OEM brands of magazines. They designed an aftermarket metal Glock 17 and Glock 19 magazine that uses a radiused indention for the mag catch rather than sharp edged cutout. These mags work fine with the factory Glock polymer magazine release.

Glock contracted with MecGar to make "factory" standard capacity metal 15 round magazines for the G43X pistol. These new 15 round mags are getting good reviews in reliability and seem to work good. These mags are now included with all new G43X/G48 pistols sold in free states that allow 15 round capacities.
