12,200 miles on Fram Ultra XG10158 cartridge. '16 4Runner VR&P 0W-20

I compared the overall height of the Fram FE10158 to the TRD #PTR43-00079 and on the workbench the TRD filter sits about 1/8 inch taller.

However the inside diameters are different so probably sit on taper in the housing and cap.

Stuff like this should not be something the consumer/technician should be double checking, it should just be a good fit.

If you go to Fram site they list FE Endurance as "Wire Backed" under "description details" , but do not show the XG (Ultra Synthetic) as being "Wire Backed". So, we can assume the collapse of the XG filter shown here was not reinforced with a wire back.
Must be the new Ultra media, without wire backing. Here's the photo with the exposure and brightness cranked up. But the main cause of the "collapse" is most likely the cartridge is a bit too long.
