1 Million Miles...

One odometer from that thread is aftermarket. From a motorcycle actually. But none of the other 4runner owners mentioned the one in question not being from a 4runner. I figured somebody would have picked up on it if it didn't match the vehicle.

There was a Hyundai Accent that Hyundai certified that did 1 Million Kilometers (600K Miles) and it was still purring like a kitten according to the owner. It did this on Dino oil.

I'm not surprised though because those small 4-bangers are bullet proof.

1995 Hyundai Accent, 1,000,000 km

Mohammed Subedar of Brampton Canada crossed 1,000,000 kilometers in 2005 in his 1995 Hyundai Accent. The car was purchased used in 1998 with nearly 30,000 kilometers. It still houses the original 1.5 liter engine and according to Subedar, "still purrs like a kitten." He uses the auto to deliver packages for a living and covers about 5,000 kilometers per week. Since August 5, 2000 Subedar has taken the Accent in for 81 oil changes, 23 transmission services, 17 injector flushes, and eight coolant flushes. The total cost of maintenance, excluding a few minor repairs has been $5,721. Subedar has another Accent at home, a purple one, with only 230,000 kilometers on the odometer.

Any of the many oils that meet MB 229.5 (?) can. It's part of the spec isn't it?

I don't doubt a SL/CI-4+ or SM/CJ-4 oil could too.

The speedos in the pics look different...the shot of the Odometer has the MPH and ODO on the bottom, but the interior cluster shot of the truck itself has it above the needle.

It almost looks like a General Motors speedometer/odometer, if you ask me.

Again, looks like Nissan "Pick Up" Or Isuzu, MAYBE. Nissan is my guess, and Yes it was called the "Pick-up"; Isuzu was "P'up" before trhey were S10 clones and phased out in 09.

As for 4runner owners not picking up on it.. Knew someone with an 86 or 87 Land Cruiser, and never looked at his Speedo.

That Dash looks like it has many Instruments on it. Not Clean and instrument-less, like the comparison pic posted. The ill-fated VW Pickup based on a Quantun comes to mind, however, the digits style is different.

Its all speculation......

Now, as to Article:

Man's '91 Pickup Passes the 1M-Mile Mark

Feb 11, 11:08 PM (ET)

GRESHAM, Wis. (AP) - Frank Oresnik's trusty pickup truck - he calls it "the old girl" - passed the 1 million-mile mark with a camera crew filming the event and a public-radio audience listening in. "I can't tell you how much fun it was," he said. "It was really humbling, all this interest."

Recent news stories told how Oresnik had just 1,200 miles to go before reaching the milestone in the 1991 Chevrolet Silverado that he bought with 41,000 miles on it in 1996 and used in his business, distributing seafood and steaks in the upper Midwest.

At the time, he was getting his latest oil change - the kind of regular maintenance he credits with helping to keep the truck going so long.

He said he's had the truck's oil changed more than 300 times. It's had so many changes that the oil pan drain plug had to be rethreaded several times, he said, and "you never hear of that."

He passed the million-mile mark Friday in southeastern Wisconsin while on his way back home to Catawba, located in the north in Price County, about an hour west of Rhinelander. He was on County Highway V southeast of Fond du Lac.

On hand was a film crew from Chevrolet's public relations and advertising company, and he was speaking live to Robert Siegel, host of National Public Radio's "All Things Considered."

A news crew from CBS had been with him earlier in the day.

"I wont say it was relief ... it was exhilarating," Oresnik said later during a stop in Gresham where he has one of his longtime customers. "This truck has been so dependable over the years."Now that it's made history, the truck could be headed back to the automaker or Shell Oil. Oresnik said there's been some interested in GM or Shell Oil buying it.

400,000 Mile Club: 1) Mercedes-Benz, particularly from the 80s
2) Volvo (240,740)
3) Oldsmobile. (Buick, Chevrolet)
4) "Saab" (Had link)
5) Toyota
6) Honda
7) Nissan

1 Million Mile Club: ???

Ive seen several 2.3L Ford Rangers with over 400,000 miles. I know this is sacrilege but we have less issues out of the 2.3L Ford powered fork lifts than the 22R Toyota Powered ones.
