I need oil (0W20) for my 7th Gen Honda Accord. MM shows 15% oil life. I was planning on getting it done early next week.

I guess Walmart has the cheapest oil choices (in Canada vs Crap Tire). The ones I am looking at - I am wondering if you guys will say 'get the cheapest one' or 'flip a coin.' I looked at a few threads here:

#2 applies to me. He might be in Georgia but those oils are what I was looking at, also (although, there are 3 different M1 choices). I suppose he was going by this data?:

The other thread I skimmed through:

The previous oil I bought was Pennzoil Platium (PP?) and it's cSt 8.6? I think Honda OEM is cST 8.8. Should I care about those (specs)?

Anyway, the choices for me are (going by price/all are 0W20/Full Synthetic):
PP - $27; M1 AFE - $27; QSUD - $27; VA (Valvoline Advanced) - $27; M1 EP - $31; M1 HM - $28*

*dexos isn't displayed on the bottle - should I care? I read about what it is but I don't know if I should care or not.

Any thoughts? Recommendations? Just pick one/flip a coin?

As for filters, I am looking at Wix 57 356/Napa Gold and XG7317 ($3 more than the other ones).

Bought a 2005 Accord 2.4l, Gen 7 & K24… I think. Ran it for a couple hundred thousands miles…then bought a 2016 Accord, now have 65K on that. Here in Michigan with road salt other things get you before engine miles.
Anyways I used 0W-20 on both…however, agree with comments on this forum that 5W-30 would be fine. On my 2016 which is GDI, I do plan on switching over to 5W-30 when my 0W-20 stash runs out. I do 6 - 7.5K miles on an oil change with whatever synthetic is on sale…or better yet, clearance!

I service 3 Acura TSXs with the mighty K24. We purchased wifey's 06 in Dec 2006; it has over 200K and does not burn a drop. Once I accidently dumped in a jug of Idemitsu 0w20. Car loved it. Basically been on a steady diet of M1 5w30 and 5w20 for a couple years.

The 2 2007's I service go through a little oil. One has 85K (quickie lubes) and the other has 135K (dealer serviced). I know service these with any 5w30 full synthetic.

These engines seem to like 5K OCIs. I use a Fram Ultra 7317 for 2 services and my MityVac. Easy peasey.

I'd stick with the 0W20, or a 5W20 at the thickest.
Any of the $27 oils would be fine.
Is Supertech an option in Canada? If available (and if it is attractively priced,) I would even consider that.
Filter wise, I would use the Wix or the NAPA.

Honda now recommends 0W20. I was at my local dealership and had to buy coolant and the crush washers (doing both ATF and oil changes).

5W20 is acceptable. I just decided to go with 0W20, QSUD. Purchased an XG7317 to go with it. Wish me luck. ;-)
What year is your accord?

Owned a 2006 Accord with a K24. Before I cared about my cars I took this car to a friend of a friends shop for an oil change every 3,000 miles. He used 5w30 conventional oil and I ran it to 130,000 miles and then sold it. Ran like a top and never had an issue with the engine. You can run 0w20, 5w20 which it calls for or 5w30 and the K24 will run and run.

I alternate btwn PP 5w20 and ST synthetic 5w20 in my 05 CRV.

I'll have to try 5w30 since I have a few jugs left.

The 3 TSXs (2006, 2007, 2007) all call for 5w30 and that's what they have got for the most part.
The other K24s of that time (Accords, CR-Vs) called for 5w20 I believe.

Acura told me in about 2012 they were using 5w20 in those cars.
I accidently dumped 0w20 Idemitsu in once... Dang TSX loved it!

I use 5w30 in 3 TSXs now. They have 115K, 145K and 205K on the clock.
Great engines, great cars.

Did you see or experience any downsides to using the 0W-20 in your TSX?
