I was looking over my father's '07 Altima 2.5L and noticed some white corrosion looking stuff on the battery case near the bracket, but the terminals are free of corrosion.
Why would the bracket start to corrode but not the terminals? Is it overtightened? It hasn't been touched since the dealer replaced the battery about two years ago.
Should I remove the bracket, clean the corrosion, and replace it with a new bracket and nuts and tighten to torque spec (assuming there is one)? Or since there is still warranty remaining, should I have the dealer take a look at it?
