A preluber is really not needed on a daily driver . Look at how long engines last.

I have to add this kind of use is what makes syn oil, bypass filters and premium filters a perfect combination.Remember the biggest determining factor on engine life is the warmup cycle. This car has many miles per warm up cycle. Look at the wear numbers wow !!.Now take this car and drive it 3 miles to the office and 8 hours later drive it home 3 miles with a stop at the bar for some adult beverages before getting home and that is the life the car sees, the uoa numbers would be quite different.

It's been several years, but I think the entire setup cost me around $300.

My numbers look good, however keep in mind that the bypass filter is filtering out some of the wear particles as well. Granted, wear metals don't come off in chunks but not everything passes through. And a UOA doesn't measure the size of the wear particles either.

A UOA is fine for determining the relative health of the oil and whether you have a problem, but I don't believe that you can truly measure the wear on an engine just by looking at these UOAs.
