03 Honda CRV EX K24 - hard starting

I'm thinking starter at this point, if it won't turn over. I had that this past summer on our CRV; kids reported a couple of times it just went click, but I needed to wait until it got less random. Well it got less random when it decided to be fully done. Thankfully in the driveway.

If the parents are able, then perhaps it can be an early birthday gift or the like, to pay for a tow and a new starter (or whatever it requires).

The common problem is the starter. They can fail out of nowhere.

Swap the negative battery cable to the fatter 6 cylinder cable.

Just out of curiosity... Which 6 cylinder vehicle is that cable for?

The ones I have swapped are for 2006 Accord era V6 sedans. This is because you could get the 4 or 6 cylinder engine.

FYI, the negative cable for the V6 Accord won't work on a 2003 CR-V. It's too short and completely different than the CR-V cable.

It was both the battery and the starter. Both replaced. Its starts and runs good now.

That said, I will still want to get the valves clearances checked and adjusted.
