Hey Andy 👋🏼 Feel free to shoot us a DM with who you were working with. There are obviously a lot of factors when importing products from other countries, including freight rates etc that effect the cost structures for our distributors, but we would love the learn more about it and see if we...

Oil selection for 2024 Audi RS 7

You won't find many, if at all, 0w-40 with the 511 approval other than Mobil. We also have the 5W-40, but Mobil is pretty tight on controlling their additives for newer oils and from what I am told, puts some contracts in place so they are the only ones allowed to purchase it for some time...

MOTUL 8100 X-MAX 0W-40 Lost Porsche A40 in latest API SP version

So i received a reply from my product managers and it basically states that most PAO's COULD get a factory approval, because the approvals aren't reliant on a fixed number, it's within a certain range. "Every manufacturer standard has certain parameters that you have to adhere to. However...

MOTUL 8100 X-MAX 0W-40 Lost Porsche A40 in latest API SP version

It could also be the % of PAO vs HC base oils in their oils. I am curious myself, so I am going to ask my product management team in Germany for their input here. I have always been taught that our PAO oils are too high % of PAO to obtain the factory approvals needed, because it's outside of...

    2023 Mini Countryman

Unfortunately they are different oils needed comparably. We have to carry two different oils for those because you cannot meet the approvals for both with the same oil.

MOTUL 8100 X-MAX 0W-40 Lost Porsche A40 in latest API SP version

Our 0w-40 doesn’t carry the approval either because it’s PAO. It’s a tough trade off sometimes deciding between approvals an offering a quality PAO for certain weights.

    Motul vs Pentosin?

The term "synthetic" or "fully synthetic" motor oil is used controversial internationally, but has been clearly defined in Germany by several court decisions. According to these rulings, only motor oils that consist entirely of polyalphaolefinic or dicarboxylic acid ester base oils plus...

    Motul vs Pentosin?

I was discussing the 0W-20's that are in our program. Sorry for the confusion there. I can ask our home office to better explain the laws/legistlations on our labeling.

    Motul vs Pentosin?

The discussions here about laws in Germany are sort of correct. Any oil that is manufactured in Germany has to state HC-Synthesis for Group III oils. The only "Full Synthetic" oils we can label as such are Group IV oils. Even some of the newer 0W-20 weight oils we released ran into some issues...
