    BITOG Favorite Cigarettes Thread

I do switch brands occasionally. Sometimes, I'll go to a menthol in the summertime, then back to non-menthol in the winter months. For menthol, I like Salem lights or Ultra lights, and for non-menthol, Winston lights or ultra lights. I only smoke 1 or 2 a day, and I figure I wasn't gonna need...

Oil's affect on motorcycle gear shift feel?

I've only used two oils in my bike after I drained out whatever stuff they had in it when I bought it with 3k miles on it. (I'm assuming they changed it?) I generally use Schaeffer's #707 V-Twin 20w50 and it definitely lets you know when it's getting tired... For this bike and my riding style...

    Schaeffer #705 versus #707 confusion

Hate resurrecting an old thread, but this is both interesting and confusing all at once. I've been using the V-Twin in my 2003 V-Rod for some time now, and it's been working fine. I'm not sure if it has a metallic clutch, as far as I know, it's like an automatic transmission with a stack of...

    Orange flames on grill?

My parent's Char-Broil professional series did this last year when I was over there cooking for our family reunion. It was nearly impossible to get enough heat to cook all the burgers, brats, hot dogs, etc. that needed to be done in a couple hours before people got there. Swapped propane...

    what happened to Mr. Goodbar?

I never liked them. I tried a Take 5 bar not that long ago, and I really liked it. I don't eat much sweets, but this was really good.

    Keurig Brewers

I'm not a big coffee drinker, but if it's cold out, sometimes I'll have a cup at work. Best coffee I've had so far from a Keurig has been Folger's Black Silk. Lots of the others mentioned (some were included with the machine) were too bitter tasting for me. Black Silk just had a nice smooth...

    Thinking about buying a motorcycle....

The roads around here are about as flat as Gwen Stefani's chest, so there's not a whole lot of carving to be done. The price for the tires wasn't bad as I got them on sale. I could have cheaped out and got a much less expensive set, but I haven't seen the greatest reviews on them. The V-Rod guys...

    Thinking about buying a motorcycle....

Tell me about tires... Got 8000 miles out of this last pair, and for the V-Rod, they're far from cheap. A little over $500 for two new tires, and another $170 for mounting & balancing. They're a soft compound that just doesn't wear well at all.

    Thinking about buying a motorcycle....

I love my 2003 Harley-Davidson V-Rod. It's one of the most solid feeling, easy handling bike that has a total split personality. Keep the revs below 5000, and it's as tame and docile as a lamb, but whack the throttle open and let it sing up to its 9000 RPM redline and it's just flat out scary at...

    dodge 4.7 liter V8

It seems like 2005 was a problem year for these engines. My dad has a 2006 that he bought brand new, and it's always had a diet of Mobil 1 5w30 with only Mopar filters. It's got a tiny bit of timing chain/valve train rattle on a cold start, but no audible piston slap, or any other unusual noise...

    dodge 4.7 liter V8

Carbon knock is a possibility, but since it seems to dissipate as the temperature increases, that might not be the most plausible explanation. I shudder at doing a top engine cleaning on an engine with an inverted long-runner plenum such as this engine has due to the fact that any liquid could...

    dodge 4.7 liter V8

I'm running a Wix filter (normally I use Mopar, but I was out of stock, so I had to run to the store and get one that I felt was of decent quality) and (German) Castrol Edge 0W30. I'm a firm believer in synthetics, just because I put on so many miles I don't want to be changing my oil every...

ALDI brand products vs name brand?

Some things are fine, but it's not a convenient place for me to go. My parents shop there frequently, and my mom told me to never buy ground beef there. She did once, and it was like a "tube of suet". That's fine since I'd never think about buying ground beef in an opaque tube. I'm picky about...

    Tillamook

Sargento is one of the more popular ones here (and nationwide). My favorite is Crystal Farms. Surprisingly, it's not considered "premium", and is quite cheap by comparison. The local creameries also have outlet stores and have lots of interesting varieties. I'm sure if you Googled "Wisconsin...

    Tillamook

I live in the epicenter of cheesemaking. Never heard of Tillamook other than beef jerky. A 20 minute drive in any direction will land me at one or more cheese houses. I guess I've gotten a bit jaded by it. Same way with Harley-Davidson (an hour away), Miller beer (same distance), and when it...

    Pickle Roll-ups! (w/pic)

Had these once, and they were ok. My poison when it come to pickles is deep fried pickle slices. Hooters has pretty good ones.

    Kombucha - fermented sweet tea

I finally have an answer to the lyrics of a song called "Sugar" by System Of A Down. Well, sort of. To those not into alternative/metal, you'll probably hate it. It's hard to understand for most people, but oddly enough, going to lots of auctions has helped me to decipher unintelligible song...
