    Warbirds with turbocharged engines.

The idea of turbo-compounding the R-3350 was to reduce fuel consumption during cruise, to extend the range of the aircraft. Added benefit was about 1000 HP more power was available at takeoff. The power recovery turbines used a fluid coupling and coupled their recovered power back into the...

    Which 10w30 - M1 HM or PP?

One quick additional question on this subject. How long can you safely go on OCI with the M1 HM? I put this in the Wife's 02 Forester with a Pureone filter. No leaks or oil burn on the 2.5 boxer with about 110k on the clock. Engine has been maintained, no sludge. Thanks.

The lightweight shockproof is used in a cocktail with Motul Gear 300 in Subaru transaxles with great success.

Just changed Tranny fluid, GL4 to GL5...

Putting GL5 in a transmission is a mistake. Get it outta there and go back to GL4. GL5 oils have high amounts of sulphur based EP additives which cause corrosion of yellow metals in the transmission (synchros). Also, GL5 oils frequently have LS friction modifier additives, which will interfere...

    Which fluid would you use?

Hotrod? Hard launches? High shock loading. I'd actually run a cocktail in there. I'd go with a 50/50 mix of Redline Shockproof (probably the heavy stuff), and Redline 75W-140.

so find out my T56 should not use synthetic fluid

What about RP Synchromax? I have an old IROC with the WC T5. I've been running a 50/50 mix of Synchromax and M1 ATF. Works just fine!

    Delta Inherits DC9s

I just flew to SYR connecting in DTW. Saw a few aircraft there still in NWA colors. Mostly RJs and DC9s. All the bigger stuff has been repainted. I hate friggin CRJ-200s.

    Delta Inherits DC9s

I find those Bombardier CRJs to be uncomfortable. Even the CRJ900. Seats are cramped and the overheads are really small. That ERJ175 from Brasil is much more comfortable and has bigger overheads. The SFO runs have been getting 737-800s and 757s. SMF and SJC are getting only 737s, A320s and CRJs...
