    1960 CJ5 4 cylinder F4-134 engine

If you know who rebuilt it that would be a good place to start. If it's the original engine check for blogs on those things and see what other owners say. Have you driven at that altitude? It's bound to be kind of doggy at 9500'. Even modern FI engines start getting a power loss at those...

GM 5.3L v8, cant use dino?

Just go to http://www.gmdexos.com At the top of page hit the Licensed Brands tab, then Dexos 1. Big choice, and you won't find Valvoline. Never has been Dexos licensed.

No, that's fine. No stupid questions here, just some stupid responses though.

    2010 Honda CR-V Wrong Oil? 5W-20 instead of 0W-20

Daryll, That engine was spec'd for 5/20 for years. I had a '07 CRV and it too was spec'd for 5/20 in the U.S. Not much difference between the 0 and the 5. It doesn't matter in the least that they put 5/20 in it. You'll never know the difference and neither will the engine. That engine btw is...

DW-1 ATF compatible with older Hondas

Says on the DW-1 bottle for newer Honda AT's. Doesn't give a year, wouldn't think a '92 would qualify though. I checked the bottle out after buying 8 of them last week and didn't see any mention of it being synthetic either. Pitched them some days ago, but recall seeing "made from petroleum...

    Subaru Outback 2.5l H4 NA 6000miles Penn 10w30

Looks great Bill. If Black Stone got those numbers right on calcium, zinc, etc. that is quite the add pack. Looks like PYB's new offering is just another reason why most every rig on the road can go dino.

    Remember to keep the receipts!

I would imagine the warranty requirements will vary from state to state. It will vary from dealer to dealer. Most likely vary as well according to which person you even speak to at the same dealer. No big deal to save a receipt and keep a simple log. As long as you meet or exceed what the...

How long between oil changes, with low miles?

Honor your warranty, look for sales, and don't get locked into the mindset it has to be Castrol only. All the SM conventionals out there are very good. And some can be had for cheaper than others. Good luck finding a job.

Nice car. Thx for the pictures. Can't help you with the oil.

    Something wrong with Quaker State?

Any oil can cause issues when left in too long. When you're the #1 seller, Pennzoil, or the #2 seller, Quaker, that just means there are more people that use it, and more people that will leave it in too long and spread a bad reputation. That Bronco link is ridiculous.

    2004 Ford Freestar

We've got an 04' Freestar as well with 130,000 miles on it. One we have has an olm, trips off right around 5000 miles. Conventional is all it needs.

    Varnish or sludge? 2008 CR-V

Yea, after the M1 did no good I just went back to PYB. I'm in Green River, house is at 6400' and everything else from here in W. WY is up. And like you, I too miss the Checkers conventional oil deals. Syns for .99 cents wasn't bad either.

    Varnish or sludge? 2008 CR-V

Bill, Sure. I had a 2001 Dakota with the 4.7 that used to get the "goop" bad. And that was with M1. I'm not disagreeing, just saying never had it with this engine.

    Varnish or sludge? 2008 CR-V

I've only put 800 miles on my '07 in the last 4 months with conventional and don't have this issue. All short trips. Gets a great deal colder in high altitude W. WY than OH as well.

    Varnish or sludge? 2008 CR-V

I've got an '07 CRV and have never seen what you're describing. Mines a fairly low mile with 26,000 miles, or about 8500 miles a year. I blow off the MM and change the oil with PYB spring and fall. How's your coolant level been, ever have to add any?

    Pennzoil Ultra... any further news?
