    Burned a little oil….

I have had several vehicles that would burn a little on the highway but not around town. Higher power requirement, higher RPMs and higher heat

Going to 3k oil changes for a bit

The 2.4 is rated for up to 15 W-4 overseas. I would go heavier once it is cleaned up; in fact we have a 40 grade oil in ours right now.

How likely are you to return cooked food ?

That is actually a felony… Tampering with food I don't know the exact law but it is a felony to do things like that to peoples' food when you are cooking. With the food allergies I have, I have gotten used to sending things back when they are not right… we are talking full service restaurant...

    Team Valvoline no more.

I would be willing to bet that this is because Valvoline is no longer an American company, but it's now owned by Saudi Aramco.

    2024 4Runner ... Port-Injection or Direct-Injection?

It's CAFE that's annoying, which requires the wording. Same oil used in testing ust be the only one listed for use. Poppycock. Without it, we'd have the same viscosity listed in US manuals as is listed overseas.

    2024 4Runner ... Port-Injection or Direct-Injection?

The engine hasn't changed since 2010 at least. Here's an older overseas oil chart for our 4.0...and the USA OM states a higher viscosity than 0w20 may be better for some circumstances. (paraphrased) Currently using 5w30 and will likely move up to a -40 later. Enjoy your 4R!

    Comfortable Seats

We had a 2022 Acura MDX; base model the seats were fantastic… As in: No-hotspots-take-a-6-hour-drive-and-not-be-tired comfortable. Only thing that we would do different is get the ventilated seats.

    Change from 0w20 to 5w30

Absolutely fine to use 5w30; the engine is the same as any other place on the globe.

School Closing Because of Predicted Weather?

I got my eyes at this sort of thing, unless it's extremely serious. Why? Because my daughter's high school once closed because it was going to be 40° and raining.

Ford F-150 5.0 Coyote Tick and Oil Type

Had a 2023 5.0. Ran a -40 and it was much smoother and quieter than -30 or -20 grades. (Amsoil SS 0w40)

Wrangler JL or JLU battery advice

It's been good so far; got it with about 35K and we're almost at 60K now. Got a good UOA on the last oil change, and the results were better than average. I had my misgivings at first as I prefer the six cylinder also. But it has been solid and apparently has been used in Europe for several...

Wrangler JL or JLU battery advice

On our 2020 w/ 2.0 turbo, we were getting weird electrical stuff and the main battery was testing bad. Replaced it and still had weird things happening. After doing the research, disconnected the battery cable to the second battery and -poof - all issues vanished. Been that way for 6 months...

What is the single best vehicle to buy if you're a tightwad?

For a tight wad? It's the car that you currently own. With the caveat that it's not completely rusted out or totaled an accident. It's always more expensive to buy something else than to stick with what you have.

    Aging Spare Tire

Definitely need a new setup; and it's a complete waste of a good tire, leaving it under your vehicle. Maybe get a matching wheel as mentioned above, and rotate 5 tires. Same cost in the long run (but a bigger cost when tire buying time comes around of course) I use this site...

Daylight Savings Time - Yes or No?

This. Not only autistics, but everyone struggles with the change; science has shown that there are negative health effects for everyone and getting up earlier. I'm against it, makes no sense. Leave it one way or another, or split the difference. For your daughter, might I suggest a...

Used oil filter from a bmw with multiple tears.

I bet the variable oil pumps have something to do with this. "Old style" pumps gradually increased pressure with engine rpm. I have seen the pressure in our 2020 Jeep move from 18psi to more than 45psi in less than a second. These repeated surges might be contributing to filter media failures.
