    Nissan Pathfinder 3.0L V6 VG30E, Rotella T 5W-40, 4911 miles

You had it right the first time. The VG30I was in the 89 and prior V6 Pathfinders and had the TBI. The VG30E replaced it for 90-95 and had the electronic fuel injection. My 92 has 137,000; very close to yours. I never thought to use the Rotella, but that would be a pretty economical heavier...

    VW 1.8T owners; Help please

I ordered 10 feet of the 3.5mm high temp silicone vacuum hose and have been gradually replacing all the hoses in my 2002 Passat. This stuff should last much longer. www.hightempsilicone.com

    Does sun bake rubber trim?

This is an interesting thread because I recently replaced my 89 Pathfinder with a 92 from Southern California, and I had similar thoughts. Older Pathfinders (95 and prior), especially the rear frames, rust like heck here in New England and after my 89 was totaled in February of this year, I was...

    Lubro Moly Voll Synthese better?

I had posted the VOA (and a couple of UOA's from my VW 1.8T) of LM 5W-40 a while ago. I'm running GC right now because my LM source got a little too expensive. Personally, I'd run the M1 5W-40 before I went back to LM. You can't beat the price of the M1 5W-40, especially for the OCI of 5,000...

    Pennzoil 5W-30 - 94 Civic 1.5L - 3,000 miles

Well, my expansion tank is on the low side, so I'm assuming I've got a slow coolant leak, probably the head gasket. I pulled the plugs and they seem to be wearing normally. The car is running great and serving it's purpose as a long commuter. I'd rather not deal with a head gasket right now, at...

    Pennzoil 5W-30 - 94 Civic 1.5L - 3,000 miles

Bror, thanks for the reply. That sounds exactly like what's happening to mine. I'm going to go with frequent oil changes for now and deal with the head gasket later. I'll have the leak down test done just to make sure. My Pathfinder was destroyed this weekend. I was hit head on by a guy who...

    Pennzoil 5W-30 - 94 Civic 1.5L - 3,000 miles

Miles on vehicle 158,000; 3,000 on the sample. I bought this Civic with 155,000 miles and immediately did an Auto-rx treatment. Vehicle was well maintained and had regular 3,000 mile oil changes. I did the 1,500 mile clean phase and changed oil and filter. This sample represents 2,000 miles of...

    Another 1.8T Passat Question

I have 54,000 miles on my 2002 wagon. Other than a coilpack, no problems. I used Amsoil 5W-30 right out of the gate, then switched to Lubro-Moly 5W-40 for the last 20,000 miles or so with a 3oz dose of Auto-rx. I'm currently running GC 0W-30 with LC. I would Auto-rx and switch to an approved VW...

The color of my PS fluid

The Honda stuff was cheaper at the dealer than the Autozone stuff. 12oz was $1.81 at the dealer versus $2.48 at AZ. I forget which brand it was at AZ though?

    Honda Coolant Flush

I reused it. I had it just hand tight while I was doing the distilled water cycle and it didn't leak at all, so I figured with proper torqueing it would be sufficient. I'll keep an eye on it though. If it does leak I'd put a little water pump sealant on it before I bought a new plug.

    Honda Coolant Flush

You gotta love Honda when you can drain the radiator and the block and get all the coolant out without any PITA flushing. In addition, the overfill tank just slides right off without any fuss. The car is a 94 Civic with the 1.5L. I filled the system with distilled water, got it good and hot, and...
