I did this mod to my truck in hopings for improved response and better mileage. The truck does run smoother, does seem to have alittle more ooomph. I probably could've used a catch can but.....????????????? anyway. The only downside of this mod is the oil smell at idle. It is not strong but the...
Like I mentioned before, I want to try a 5w40. T&SUV (IF I CAN FIND IT!!!!!!!! ) It's still a Mobil product but seeing it's a thicker viscosity at operating temp. I was curious to see if something like a thicker viscosity would skew things up.
Seems like there's alot more to it to really get a...
I was never impressed with there oil selection. Although I did crack a smile when they had a 55 gallon drum of Chevron Delo 15w40 and a 55 gallon drum of Rotella 15w40,,,,op
Hmmm,
I have 1qt of GC with Vavoline 10w40 mixed in it for the lawnmower, 1/2qt of Rotella 10w30 and 1/2 qt of Chevron 10w30, does my little stash count for anything? lol op
Yea, I'll confess. Before joining this site, I thought oil was oil and the more expensive oil was, the better it must be. That was my concept. Oh yea, Up until Nov 2002, you think I would try diesel engine oil in my gas engine, HA! no way!
Now this is my thinking today about oil. Cheap stuff...
hehe, I don't plan on buying oil until my truck hits 83K miles. Currently have 77K on it. Changed oil on it at 73K. So far, most of those miles have been highway. Good luck,,,op
College buddy of mine has an 89 4cyl Ford Probe. He bought the car last year with the cylinders running @ about 60psi each. He put in Engine Restore and he now says the cylinders are running @ about 150 psi each, so it must be doing something right? I've never tried Engine Restore personally...
So if I were to use M1 EP for a run then decide to switch back to regular M1 synthetic, then do a UOA, the results won't be accurate disregarding production quality, etc... am I right? I think I'll just stick with M1 synthetic,,,,op
Your not kidding man! I love the spring and summers here, fall is ok, and winter can just bite me, lol
If I had a choice of where to live, it would have to be in Nebraska, Colorado, AZ or somewhere nice in the mid states. Colorado probably isn't scorching hot but I can improvise in 4 wheel...
Hi motoman358, Welcome to BITOG
If it were me, I'd just use the regular mobil1 synthetic stuff. I'm not sure I buy completely into the EP thing. But that's just me,,,op
The day before Thanksgiving Ohio gets dumped on with about 1-3" of snow and salt. Great timing for me because I came home for Thanksgiving from college. Roads weren't too bad, other parts were so so.
I feel pretty confident my truck as it is now will make it through the winter without giving...
first off I'll say the search engine on this forum is not making me a happy camper to put in a nice way
Second, vad posted a thread somewhere sometime ago with his valve covers off after using RL in engine for sometime. Maybe someone can scrounge up that thread? thank you,,,,op
Yea, very interesting idea. Now we can say "yea man, my car gets drunk and it runs like a champ! lol I wonder about whiskey or hard liquor, you know, the stuff that makes you puke op
